I got this game soon after buying a VR Treadmill. Figured it'd be a nice little try before jumping back into Alyx. I was totally sucked into the game. Duel wielding a blaster and powersword while cutting down cultists was absolutely epic. With the treadmill, running and movement was natural and really brought me into the VR world. I'd charge at the enemy slicing and shooting, tossing grenades and just having an all around blast.
Granted the environment graphics weren't exactly the best, the characters were all very detailed and brought Warhammer to life. A little too life in some places. I fully enjoyed my time in the game and while the ending was too abrupt, I honestly hope for a second game. Same game mechanics, just better graphics and longer story.
I spent probably 1 hour each gaming session and it was a full body workout. Especially later levels where you have both weapons firing in different directions towards groups of enemies. The plasma pistol was completely Warhammer with it's penchant of exploding if not careful. I loved that accidental grenade. And being a small woman, the weapons were perfectly sized and felt real. While the Space Marine who joins up has a bolter rifle the size of your character's body. They kept things "believable".
I really enjoyed this game in a full VR treadmill setup and it would be just as fun without. It's a very enjoyable, challenging game on it's own.

I love Warhammer 40K and VR but this isn't it. I have played indie VR games with better graphics and less jank.

Ill just start out by saying I got this on sale and never having really played any 40K game, that said, I love this game. It kinda reminds me of like the ps2/xbox days where the graphics arent super crazy, its pretty straightforward, theres a pretty fun story, they dont really hold your hand very much and I love that. Seriously, you go to a location stab and shoot your way through feeling like a badass lol. Simple, challenging at points, immersive, and lots of fun. Even if I didnt pick it up on sale Id still be happy with ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
