Playtime: 66 minutes
(Reviewed when I reached Stage 3 Level 1, just after the first boss of the game) Pros: - Gameplay is fun after getting used to it. I do have issues with how shooting is handled (can only rotate turret 180 degrees, shoot only where you're facing), but it remains to be seen if it is a skill issue on my part or if it will be better on subsequent playthroughs. - Can get challenging as well, and not the frustrating challenging kind, the actually challenging kind. There are parts of the game where it's a cycle (think moving platforms), the enemies look reasonable enough. - Playing on UW 3840x1600, I don't see any UI problems. Neutral - Probably should expose the FPS limit in settings instead of having to crawl through the .ini files. I got around 80 FPS on a 3060ti on 3840x1600. - I can't tell if the music is good, but it is definitely not bad or annoying. Cons - The camera pans out anytime you move, depending on your speed. Faster means farther zoom out. However, in this game you constantly have to change speed to avoid obstacles, meaning the camera will keep on panning out while playing. This actually made me feel queasy. I do get motion sickness while traveling, however I do wish there was an option to disable the panning out. - Anytime you get hit, you hear a beeping sound ala-low health in Pokemon for around 3 seconds. This gets annoying real quick because you're going to be constantly hitting stuff while playing. For critical health, it is fine, but not for anything else. - Mouse sensitivity in this game is very important, but the setting in game isn't as granular as it should be. It's adjusted by 10% (100->90->80), I think it would be beneficial if it can be as granular as possible for a game like this. I'll keep playing this in short bursts despite the cons, though I do wish #1 con could be resolved.
