Portal but time instead of space -that's the bearbones, and it sticks to that mechanically very well. A bit of jank with the platforming at times, and a desperate need for rewind/fast forward buttons when controlling objects (seriously, why NOT?? make it reset when you stop controlling an object - it'd be perfect, just use Q and E!!), but everything else about The Entropy Center works extremely well. The story is decent, the world is interesting (if not terribly well fleshed-out) and your friendly robot companion finds its place as a high-point. For an indie title EC has style for days, and I cant wait to see what this dev puts out next

Pretty nice puzzle game, with interesting and varied mechanics. Feels a bit like Portal

Fun puzzle game not unlike portal, but the puzzles are REALLY repetitive(i mean also unlike portal but it seemed more lacking in different vibes, it relied on introducing a new puzzle piece every few levels to differentiate. I actually really enjoyed the story and lore bits around that you can pick up and what astra gives you. The story itself is really cute and interesting, game play is a bit boring. I love it though! well done. Thank you!

I played through about a quarter of the game before deciding to put it down. It’s a puzzle game that’s clearly inspired by Portal—and it’s pretty much impossible not to compare the two. Unfortunately, it ends up feeling like a downgrade across the board. What made Portal so special was its unique and original mechanics at the time, paired with a smart, funny narrative companion. This game tries to follow that formula, and I’d say it gets maybe 75% of the way there. The puzzles are okay, the concept has potential, but the whole thing just feels mid and bland.

This game feels like The Portal 3 We Have At Home™, but in a good way. Graphics and music are great, puzzles are enjoyable (if a bit repetitive), and the story is entertaining. It's far from perfect, but for being basically a solo project, it's impressively polished. If you like puzzle games it's definitely worth playing.

The Entropy Centre is a very good first-person puzzler that delivers interesting and engaging puzzles without resorting to esoteric and frustrating solutions or overwrought mechanics. Many reviewers have compared this game to Portal; I think this is incredibly unfair on The Entropy Centre, as it raises expectations so high that they can almost never be met. This isn't trying to be Portal, even if some of the presentation might be a tad similar. The Entropy Centre does have more of an explicit plot that is deliberately told; some players may find this interesting, others may let it wash over them. It's there for those who want it. I thought it was perfectly fine, and the game was a good wrapper to contain it. The levels themselves made use of varying mechanics, building as the player makes progress; this keeps things from getting stale, as the slight twists have meaningful impact on possible solutions. Many have complained that it's a matter of simply working the puzzle in reverse and job's done, but oftentimes I think it's more complicated than that. The better puzzles were those that forced a more convoluted solution. But these were never so complex that a player could reasonably get lost in the middle of working it through. Graphically, the game looks very impressive. The overall presentation is polished, with the graphics really enhancing things nicely. The soundtrack was also pretty good, without unnecessarily drawing attention to itself. The humour throughout was fairly low key, without being cringe-inducing or irritating; it simply kept the tone at a level that kept things from being to desperate. One criticism I do have: it's not clear after the fact where one might have missed intel pickups. These were nice little diversions in some cases, an excuse to do some extra wee puzzles to explore and gather collectables. Going back to pick up any that are missed is going to be a bit of a pain when one doesn't know where out of the 76 they are missing any. Overall, this is definitely worth picking up to while away a few hours.

One of the best games of our time, the sound component, gameplay, characters of the game and especially the soul were touched by the ending, the author has the deepest respect

Game looks beautiful, but puzzles are too tedious. I blame it all on 3 things 1) The rewind mechanic is too slow 2) The rewinds are uninteractive, a controlled forward would have been nice 3) I keep missing jump pads.

It's easy to play The Entropy Centre and just dismiss it as a heavily inspired by Portal (and The Talos Principle) puzzle game and nothing more, but that would just do an enormous injustice towards the developers of this game... or should I say to the developer, because this is actually a solo project and I feel it needs to be said when speaking about it. Scenario, music and the puzzle concept of this game are all very solid. I was particularly surprised by the story, which has also a very satisfying ending. I believe the elephant in the room which needs to be talked about is the quality of the puzzles, which differentiates itself from the concept. Being able to rewind items back to a previous state has an infinite window of possibilities puzzle-design speaking, but unfortunately it feels like it doesn't manage to truly evolve throughout the game and ends with a lot of untapped potential. From a difficulty standpoint it only manages to be challenging towards the very end with 4 or maybe 5 somewhat intricate puzzles. If you like to be really pushed to the limit by a puzzle game maybe this isn't exactly for you. If instead you'd like to play a puzzle game with a lighter challenge while enjoying an intriguing scenario this might just be it.
