game is NOT worth $40 for the amount of content it offers. could probably play 2-3 hours before it gets boring. definitely buy on sale if you must

This game plays a lot like the mini games from Fall Guys that are not obstacle courses, only with less players for local coop. While some mini games are very similar to levels from Fall Guys (which isn't bad at all, Hex-A-Gone or Jump Showdown are some of my favorite Fall Guys levels and there are games very similar to these in Playground) the game also has a lot of unique mini games. There are 25 different games. The game is very polished and the graphics are nice and colorful. Before a level starts you can try each mini game on a smaller waiting screen so even new players will know what to do when a round starts.
This is definitely one of the better local coop games I've played. The full price for the game is far too high, but I bought the game during a sale while it was 90% off and for that price it's well worth it.
The only problem I had with the game is that if you play with less than 4 people bots automatically get added. The bots are not the problem, they do a fine job for the most part and you can adjust their difficulty. But since the worst player always chooses which game to play (after each round there are 3 games to choose from) it's often a bot who chooses. Now naturally you have some games you like and some games you don't like that much, so it's a bit frustrating if the bot always chooses the mini games you don't want to play. There should be an option to turn off bots choosing mini games so a human player can always choose what to play next.
The game also has online multiplayer, but I think that's pretty much dead.
If you like local coop games you should absolutely give this game a try, but wait until it's on sale.

It's basically mario party without the board game.
25 mini games to play, all pretty unique.
I had fun playing with my brother with 2 bots, probably even more fun if you have 4 real people to play with.

This game is expensive, yes. But it is worth it on sale.
Very fun Mario Party type games. They are all pretty fun, lots of 1v1v1v1 and 2v2 and 1v3. Cool games.
Fun monsters, nice music, and its overall a good game. Not sure why its poorly reviewed.
