Zeekers is such a creative and fun developer and has quickly become one of my favourite to follow. He has such a distinct style that seeps through each aspect of his games, from the visuals, to the music, to even the game design itself. This is no exception. The Upturned is genuinely funny, scary when it needs to be, and most importantly it's plain fun. HIghly recommend.

This game was a decent challenge. I really enjoyed the dialogue and story, It kept me entertained while exploring the levels. The bonus levels expanded on some of the mechanics that weren't utilised as much in the main story and were very fun to mess around with.

I saw someone play it, and decided, why not.
It was so worth it. The game is fun and goofy, and the story is great.

A fun and decently long game, with interesting characters, story, puzzles, and a verity in level design. I don't know if this is the kind of game that I would play multiple times but my playthrough left a large impression on me enough to say that its definitely worth more then ten dollars.

There's no language in the world with words for explaining how beautiful this game is in a way that makes it justice. It starts as a silly horror game and becomes a part of you at the end.
There's also catchy tunes and Traveler does a silly dance when idle. 11/10

First off, I know this game has 99.9% positive ratings, but I have to be true to myself and whoever reads this.
I didn't enjoy this game. I really tried too.
I played for over 4 hours, almost to the end of the game, and I can't bring myself to finish it.
+ The writing and banter between your character and another main character throughout the game is well written and funny.
+/- Mysterious story is captivating, but the ending I watched was rushed and explained nothing.
+/- The graphical style of the game is interesting to look at, it has a certain comic book anime retro style. However after a while the pixelated blurry graphics just hurt my eyes, and the later levels were too dark in general.
- The basic gameplay consists of of only doing two things: 1. Jumping 2. Picking up and throwing items.
Despite only having 2 things to do, both are counter intuitive when actually playing the game.
1. The jumping animation is too fast and your character falls too fast. Its difficult to position yourself where you want to land during platforming sections, and that is half the game.
2. Picking up and throwing items is also annoying. Instead of adding different mechanics for fighting, the developers during the later levels just stick you in a small room with 5-10 of the same monster jumping around while you are trying to grab chairs and items to throw at them over and over again. Not my idea of fun. Don't get me started on the annoying crow birds that fly all around you and attack you while you are launching anything you can find in the air...
- I had to play the game on mute. As other reviews have said, and a few people have made threads about this on the game's forum, the sound of your characters footsteps are extremely grating and almost gave me a seizure. The sound effects of the text messages throughout the game are extremely harsh and grating on the headphones.
- Many times you find yourself in bad camera angles during fast sections with instant kill enemies that kill you with one hit as you are trying to run from them to the exit. Super annoying.
More frustrating than fun, and horrible sound design.
Overall: 3.5/10
