I had tons of fun playing this game (even 100% the game), but there were more than a few frustrating levels. There were great ideas and game mechanics, but also some other not so fun ones. There were levels that made complete sense, but others that are annoying to navigate through. Overall, it's charming and entertaining, although it could do with a little tweaking.

I actually quite like this game! But I don't recommend buying the Steam release, because it's missing content that's only available in the Switch version. If you don't own a Switch, then sure grab this version! But if you do, get the Switch version, or you'll be kind of disappointed the way I am right now As for the game itself: Overall quite fun, constantly adds new gimmicks and makes the absolute most out of its core concept, but it's sometimes way *way* too hard for its own good. What seems to happen is that each world has its own, *very* steep difficulty curve, such that the final level or two (like, before the boss level, those are almost always pretty easy) abruptly jumps in difficulty. When this game balances on the razor's edge of challenge and flow, it's an absolute blast, but this gets offset by the levels where coin and enemy placements appear to expect you to be psychic, made worse with mechanics that are not 100% reliable (spitting fish my beloathed). But its commitment to its aesthetic is incredibly convincing, the music and visuals have great energy, and there's a lot of polish put into the game's feel - so overall I've come away from it feeling positively.
