Parasomnia Reviews
Parasomnia is a horror game in the style of backrooms. The accompanying excellent visual will allow you to plunge into the nightmare happening around the hero. Mitya is not a fighter, he can only run. Realistic camera and sound complement your emotions.

In general, very good for its price. The atmosphere is present and it pumps. Graphics at a good level. Recommended for horror fans.

Parasomnia, (a category of sleep disorders that involve abnormal movements, behaviors, emotions, perceptions, and dreams that occur while falling asleep, sleeping, between sleep stages, or during arousal from sleep), it's a first person horror game, akin to The Backrooms. You are in the shoes of voiceless, nameless character, trying to escape a maze like structure while running from very angry and relentless monsters. History wise the premise is a casebook of; been there, done that. So, nothing to write home about, although it compensantes by being graphically outstanding and will make you feel immersed in it's creepiness.
Gameplay wise, I found it frustrating, due to the camera and flashlight, that, more than once blocked me from seeing a note that was right in front of me.
I still recommend it, especially due to it's price tag.
I made a a walkthrough of the game running on Steam Deck:

It seemed scary at first but after a while you pretty much aimlessly "run" around doing nothing.
Like a lot of reviews on this game, the head bobbing is too much and the breathing from the character IS TOO LOUD.
It seems like it could be a good game and for it being 70% off atm (3/08/2023) it might be worth trying out if u want to figure out how to escape but i wouldnt pay full price for this.

Repetitive boring hallways full of nothing. A dude having an asthma attack in your ear and horrible sound design overall. The head bob is actually nauseating and my game ran at 20-30fps even at the lowest settings. Games with similar graphics run just fine on my computer.
The funniest part was the death sound when i fell into a pit. Sounded like someone squeezing a hamster to death.
Maybe the game gets better later on but i really couldn't be bothered to play it more than i already did since it was overall just bad game play wise.
Overall not recommended. And besides there are many more "backroom inspired" games that do it way better than this game. Paid 90 cents for this and i feel robbed.

A frustrating gaming experience! Optimization and gameplay leave much to be desired! The game does not exactly convey the feeling and atmosphere of the backstage, as the developer presents it. And the monster's capture zone made me laugh so much, I could literally slip out from under his nose. From my point of view, the project is still raw and requires special attention in development. I think this game is extremely overrated by the reviews. In russian: Govno ebanoe/

Very cool horror. The atmosphere is top notch, so it was really scary to play. Definitely recommend if you want to tickle your nerves.

The game is ok, but in my opinion someone can make a great one with the resources here. It looks great and is immersive, but the monster is lacking and there is no lore or deeper meaning (don't get me even talking about the end). Tbh worth if it is on sale

I marvel at the average rating being "Mostly Positive" (but considering most of the positive reviews consist of some variation of "good game", maybe I don't). Badly cobbled together asset-flip maps brought to you in beautiful eye-squinto vision and headbob strong enough to induce nausea. Your character breathes wetly into your ears on a loop the entire game. You blindly run down the same hallways over and over and over again. You read some notes in poor Engrish. You run down more hallways into a maze made of hallways. You are briefly chased by a poorly rendered monster, but his heart isn't really in it. These aren't the kind of hallways he likes. Don't worry though, that'll change! You finally turn the right hallway and take some stairs to a Hospital map. You know it's a hospital map because it's absolutely cluttered with hospital assets. Enjoy finding notes for a code you need to open a door. Monster is back and much more enthusiastic. He'll be chasing you for the entire duration of your hospital stay. Literally glued to your backside. You know those notes you need to read? Plot Twist: He'll kill you before you can finish reading them! Eyestrain and Nausea: The Game.

Escape through a maze while you have the loudest breathing character ever, being chased by the most anti-climatic 'monster' there is. I don't know if I just couldn't find the scary areas, but after 20 minutes of listening to my character breathing like a bad Darth Vader impression combined with the most obnoxious head-bob I've experienced in a while, this is a hard pass.

This was....kinda bad. It's repetitive nothingness of just aimlessly running around until you managed to figure out a route. The head bob is horrible to look at, you can't turn it off. Meh, it's a pass.
