Ark of Loif Reviews

I wanted to like this game, but it is way too difficult for me. And not in a Dark Souls good kind of way. You pick up an AK at the start with 10 rounds, go to the first level and a spider tries to attack you. First two shots are missing, I think. It is hard to tell, because I couldn't tell if it actually hit the spider since there was no reaction, like blood or anything like that. I shot 5 times and the Spider died. Suddenly I hear another Spider coming at me, shot 5 times again and killed it. So with my 0 out of 10 bullets another one approached me. "Oh shit what do I do?" is what I screamed before I got killed. After that I was trying it again, just to realize that my gun is missing, because when you die you loose it. I went back to the level and these Spiders are next to my stuff and I can't attack them because, well my guns are right next to them. I run up try to grab my gun, but they kill me. Tried a second time with the same result. I then also realized that it made no sense to even try, because I don't have bullets... Then I realized that there is a shop located in the HUB where you can buy weapons and ammo. "Neat" I thought, but nope. No money. I didn't have the patience to start a new game, so I refunded it. I might have been to quick with refunding and I maybe missed something, like money I should have found to buy ammo. I did look around the HUB though and found nothing. It might have also been because it took 5 hours to download and I got furious and mad at my internet connection. I also think I might just not be the right person to play this game, so try it out yourself! Other than that, I think this game would be pretty cool if there was more sounddesign and more ammo at the beginning, maybe an easy mode?. The graphics fit perfectly to the style/genre and level design is good too. I still give this game a thumbs up, because I think the developer is capable of making a solid game, its just a little too hardcore for me.
