I really like this game. It's really just good fun to just fight and the combat is some of the best I've seen in a VR game so far. So would recommend you buy this game

Solid experience, a mix of medieval arcade sword/bow fighting with environmental objects you can use against the enemy, moving around with a grappling hook, very simple puzzles (just my level (: ), also a simple but satisfying progression system, and of course, epic boss fights with Behemots.
It isn't very long but I didn't get bored for a second. I liked the rough barbaric/medieval setting, and the plot felt encouraging to fulfill the protagonist's quest.
I would love to see more games like that on the VR market!
One thing I believe could be easy to implement and would improve my experience are main quest markers or some hints. I felt enticed to explore optional areas of the map to gather materials for upgrades and sometimes there were 2 paths to follow. I didn't know which one was the main quest so I followed one if it seemed long and then returned to the other, in a few cases backtracking even twice coz the optional area turned out quite long and I thought that was the main path.
Another, but more level design thing,
in the final part of the game there were nice areas where you needed to swing between different grappling hook anchors like Tarzan, above the abyss
. Quite cool, I would gladly have more of that.
Regarding the stamina system, I liked it during climbing parts, forcing players to do it quickly and vigilantly looking around for the shortest path. But in combat on the one hand it forced me to play smart, and was more about reflex, and accurate hits in the right moments, not a fury of blindly swinging hands. On the other hand, I like it when VR games are also breaking a sweat, being a home cardio workout. So here combat is more about reflex, vigilance, and awareness of the surroundings. Hitting those vulnerable enemy areas felt satisfying, as well as pulling them down with the grappling hook to their death. I also liked when a few vulnerable, but well-placed archers appeared who needed to be killed quickly, before focusing on the main heavy-armored opponents who required different tactics. Being tanky wasn't an option, I needed to move, prioritizing certain enemies, using terrain for my advantage, and not letting to get surrounded. That's a big plus.
Also, I think there are not so many "full" games like that on the market right now, some are sandbox fighting without the plot, some are plot without fighting, etc., so that one definitely stands out.
Ah, and the graphics, I was playing on PCVR and it seemed simplified to also fit standalone headsets, but it's well-made and pleasurable for the eye.

It pains me to make this review negative, because this game, in presentation, is beautiful. The scale of the world and the Behemoths themselves are all done really well and the art style is consistent. I was genuinely invested in the story and world building, but it's the combat and mechanics I don't like. It does a good job at trying things I haven't seen in other VR games, the grapple hook, covering your ears to block sound waves, and covering your mouth in toxic gas. My biggest grip is the combat, it has the same motion smoothening S&S has to convey weight, but it's done too harshly as building up enough momentum to register a hit or parry forces me to wield a longsword like it has the weight of a claymore. The Behemoths though well done presentation wise, are in gameplay very annoying to climb. I understand each Behemoth is meant to be a puzzle that requires use of introduced mechanics and weapons, but the pacing is painfully slow, and attempting to move or strike before an indication means you'll fall and have to reset. Other than that my disappointment lies in the condition the game was launched in and still is recovering from today. Enemies randomly do not spawn, hitboxes are visible, and this game is not well optimized. I played on minimum graphics with all the fancy stuff turned off and I still had consistent drops in performance and lag spikes. I have no doubt this game could be one of my top 5 VR games, but not in the condition it's in.
