Playtime: 110 minutes
Warning: A couple of scenes involving suicide What happened to the insane chicken in the beginning? I demand an answer. Where do I start? Well, this game has a lot of bugs, and I mean a lot. Some funny, like the main character you're controlling overlapping with the background, or them moving sideways to a location every time you load up a new save file. Other bugs did tarnish gameplay, like items not being where they should be when I check multiple times (like in one of the locker door), but only appear randomly for no reason after I do a few tasks before. Or the time you can repeat the main plot scene you've already bypassed before by selecting dialogue choices you've already made. Due to that, I feel inclined to save ever so often just in case I run into a game-breaking bug. This game is messing, I'm not gonna lie, but it made up for the fact that the developer is forthcoming about it by making some funny fourth-wall-breaking jokes about the budget constraint, like rather than animating something that would take time and save money, they describe the event that occurred. That's very creative as an excuse to make that type of humour. There are also many other types of jokes like bad puns, self-awareness and sarcasm, some of which I compete on which one is terribly bad and obvious, in a good way compared to others. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3479408383 If you didn't know, we play as Vincent
, who later got turned into a vampire to be used as a pawn, hint by the name
, who accidentally started investigating a murder that's been going around where the victim is lifeless without an aura around them. Throughout the story, the game started to take itself seriously with Vincent getting depressed over
(which just lost), his brother not caring about him, his family not listening to him and his crushes having little regard for him
. Knowing that it's understandable to see how like he came to terms with harming his body. Even without knowing beforehand, I can feel how very personal this game is for the developer. You can tell this is a self-insert, which is one of the reasons I feel bad for not recommending this game, because I don't want to discredit any feelings they must have had being going. Making games is not an easy task, especially if you lack the capital, mouth of the world and support to make it a reality. Video game is a form of expression that some people can relate some may find it harder to understand, depending on how it is constructed. This game may be too personal for my comfort. I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's like I'm invading someone's inner mind even though they gave you a consented invite. I was entirely surprised this game was reaching a climax once we were done investigating the werewolves. This lovely world that is filled with characters like the reaper, ghosts, talking skeletons, vampires, cyborgs, werewolves, an alien in disguise, all sorts, that probably shouldn't be together like but it somewhat works, feels short-lived to let go so soon. I was hoping we could investigate some other faction with different creatures and mythical being clans, but of course, it probably ended quickly due to budgetary reasons. That may be why it started to feel aimless and directionless towards the end. This game probably hit too close for me because of how suddenly all these negative feelings came around. But do not worry, the developer is still around and making improvements, like adding some VA and fixing some bugs til this day. In its current version, I can't recommend but keep this under you radiant because you never know some games may surprise you, and I may revisit this in the future to see any major updates. I have hopes.
