I love the game so far! Beautiful art, interesting characters, and fun mechanics! Edit: I think it fixed itself, thank you if you did fix it though!

Rainbow Sea feels like an experiment in deconstructing something far larger until there's zero fat left. I enjoy and collect these sorts of heavily streamlined games, but if you're walking into this expecting a full-bodied creature in the form of a traditional VN or an RPGM point and click, you're going to be more than a little disappointed. This game has places to go (not with you, you're stuck on this ship) and people to see (unless it's raining.) Every day is a month and you only get twelve of them. Every real time second is a minute in-game and events will drain some arbitrary amount of time, as well as activities like cooking, fishing, and reading books. If you hate timers, this likely sounds stressful, but since all you've got to do is activate events, there's little worry about. The save slots are generous and include autosave. There's also a log, skip text, and a fast forward for time button, so even if you waste a day, it's no bother to go back and redo it. Writing-wise, this is a tame otome game. The protagonist is rational in her thoughts and (re)actions usually. She does brute force her way into quite a few hearts just by doing nothing or being too nice. Gods have low standards, I suppose. Sometimes the option to lie is available, but it feels silly and arbitrary, never bratty or conniving. The god characters themselves are okay. None are cruel or abusive. You can be friends or enter a quasi romantic relationship (the standard for all relationships in this) with the goddess. I liked hanging out with her the most. The sprites are cute and well animated when they do something other than stand or walk around. There are no CGs, though endings each have one piece of art attached to them. What you see here is mostly what you get. The localisation feels bland. Characters don't seem to have their own distinct voices. There is a yee-haw kansai god, but even his tone seems to rub off on other characters unaware. Scattered throughout are some typos, the kind that don't trigger spellcheck and are easy to read past. In-game, you can switch the language freely from the main menu but not during gameplay itself. Time also stops during dialogues and menus. If you've ever played something and thought, "wow, all this grinding just to see one paltry event?" and felt sick about it, this game solves that particular problem. Whether it's a good idea actually is purely up to your tastes and preferred level of narrative efficiency. I got things to do, man.

Don't lose to Daikoku!
You really like fishing, don't you?
The flowerbed is in the corridor.
Feel free to pick out any books you like.
I forgot to pack the necessary luggage.
When you get sleepy, go back to your room and sleep!
A god with the power of the sun, perhaps?
When you're hungry, come here and have some food.
You seem to be gettin' along well with t'others.
I think I had a long dream.
... Would you like to be a god?
In sickness and in health?
