My opinion:
This game is fun, its not too complex and is a great way to just relax. It reminds me of older games, where you just zone out and kill bad guys. There is a nice gladiator theme and fantasy elements.
It is made by a small dev team and you can tell they have poured love into it.
Is it a perfect game: no
Are there better games in this genre: yes
But does that mean it is not worth the money: NO
I don't often write reviews, but seeing the updates the devs have been making just makes me respect them.
Sorry if this review is a bit unstructured, but just give it a try and you will find yourself having a blast.

Cool game if you like casually killing a bunch of enemies. Most levels appear pretty similar at first glance, but there is plenty of variation since each gladiator has strengths and weaknesses and as such requires its own playing style. As you level up a gladiator, you get to choose upgrades, again allowing you to adapt your style.
The game gradually gets harder but also allows the player to tune the difficulty, so it neither gets boring nor impossibly hard.
Great game that keeps you entertained without asking a lot of focus.

Fun, low-budget arena game with heroes you can upgrade and customize. There is a hefty difficulty spike early on that could scare off some players (myself included, I like a good easy-mode in games) but for those stubborn enough, there is plenty of content to discover and enjoy.
Hoping for Controller support soon, as I'm not a Mouse + Keyboard type gamer
Ps: mostly played with Ember. Always go with the mage!

I find Valor very fun to play, which is surprising, since this is not my usual cup of tea.
It is simply beautiful, especially the arenas, which are well thought out and detailed. The game plays smoothly on my next-gen pc, as well as on my 3-year-old laptop. The UI is nice and tidy, and the music is fitting.
There is a ridiculous number of things you can do, from levelling up your character(s) and buying them outfits, to earning achievements and upgrades. I am pretty convinced it takes time to master.
Looking at where I am now, gameplay feels a bit grindy, sure, but nowhere near what I have grown accustomed to, and for now, at least it does not cost a penny (extra).
I also do feel like the classes are not balanced enough from the start. Avoiding spoilers, I will talk to the team about this.
I guess the best compliment I could give if this: it reignites my inner fire for game development. Well done to the entire team! I am looking forward to this!

Super fun game. Worth far more than the $8 they are asking. plays like diablo and has similar isometric top down view. Main difference is game is wsad(keyboard) and not click to move. the controls are easy to understand and use, especially because the game allows you to change your keymapping under the settings tab.
As of right now I dont think there is a controller option which is why this game hasnt taken off and had the many more sales/positive ratings it deserves. If you play other games like fps games where you use WSAD keys to control your movement you will pick up the movement easily on Valor.
Game plays with each level being a large gladiator arena and requires you to beat a certain amount of enemies, or survive a certain length of time, or defeat a boss.
Valor is super fun and u can play it for 5 minutes or less to play 1 arena match, or you could play for hours upon hours, depending on your preference/time available to play in your life. This game has a ton of available content... way more than I expected. especially for a game under $10 bux. Actually this game has more content than a lot of $50 games out there.
Valor looks good and plays good as well. IT IS SUPER FUN! if you are hesitant to buy because of low amount of reviews...DONT BE. buy it and you will enjoy it, even if you dont usually play a game like this. Again, the only reason the game has been overlooked is due to keyboard movement only as there isn't controller support on the Valor ad page. This would be a near flawless twinstick shooter on controller(but as of now it is keyboard only). you use mouse for basic attack and can remap settings to make right mouse button 1 of your characters 3 special skills as I do.
There are currently 5 different classes to choose from, each with their own weapon and play styles. there are also skill tree's for each characters different special skills along with a skill tree for your basic attacks. You can also add runes to each character, which add power to your character in different ways. You can use the coins you earn in game to buy upgrades for your character skills, weapons, or even the different arena's you battle in.
I highly recommend this game and plan to add it to my rotation. I have a lot of games but play very few. This will be added to my "play often" list... check back to watch my play hours increase to double and triple digits over time. I have just started playing this and will continue to do so, as I feel it is THAT GOOD and THAT FUN.
I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who likes to have fun. It's 1 player currently and that is just fine. It is a great solo experience so far and from what I am seeing, it will continue to stay fun due to the multitude of different characters and skills available.
I wish more games were this good! 10/10
I highly recommend VALOR. Hidden gem/great game!

I like the concept of the game very much. The ability to progress through the levels and return to earlier ones to unlock certain stuff you couldn't before is always a progression mechanic that I love.
The various unlocks you can get are awesome and make you progress further and further.
The mechanics of the different zones are also really good and simple enough to start the game with. It gives a good intro to what is expected of the player in order to beat certain levels more easily. (main example would be the flowers levels, where you have to jump on the spawning saplings to destroy them and prevent them from spawning). Naturally i ran into some bugs but none that really brake the game, i always had a smooth ride along the levels and always had a finished game state at the end. My feedback has been passed to the developers and I suggest you all do that too. A lot of potential here.
-Maybe you could even add more build paths for each class to change things up and make certain equipment favor certain builds.
A lot of scalability here.

Small but well thought out game. good selection of playstyles in both charachters and adversaries.
paired with slightly whacky themes makes for an extremely solid one-man-build game.

Nowadays it seems like it's only the games that noone's heard about that can still surprise you or disappoint you like the rest of the gaming industry in recent years.
This title is the former and it deserves it's name by all accounts.
Valor is a very enjoyable and well put together game that holds more surprises than this years christmas tree.
If ur like me before the purchase you probably have never heard of the game, seen the game or thought much of it if you happened to scroll through the store.
But make no mistake, what you purchase for little money will give you more bang for your buck than most other games even if the game is not on sale.
For me it was 7.99 for a nice ARPG like, Arena-Survival game with roguelike gamemodes and grind possibilitys to refine your Characterbuilds.
What defines your Character in this game, that you choose from 5 Gladiators will depend on what runes you equip. The runes can be hit or miss but leave for some very interesting builds for different scenarios and purposes for each character. You will start out weak, unlock the skilltree gradually have more stats to push more statrequirement content and will feel the strength of your character and enemies go up gradually.
The best mods will come from higher tier runes which will affect top and bottom end rolls so you'll always want to keep trying to get exactly what you want for each character and purpose. Luckily farming them isn't all too difficult and gives you something to do over multiple hours in the game you purchased to spend time playing. Lucky you huh.
The Characters are voice acted, are all unique in their gameplaystyles and can be finetuned to how you wish to play the game with the only limitation being your time, effort and understanding.
The Campaign doesn't take very long to finish on the pleb and gladiator difficultys but when you're done with those the roguelike modifiers can be activated for better loot and a fresh and new gameplay experience where you do not start from 0 but always leave with more than you had before. Temporary bonuses are temporary but you'll always get something for your time, so you'll never feel robbed. Albeit not every mode will grant rewards on failure when you bite off more than you can chew.
The gameplay is smooth, graphics are alright, attacks and abilitys of you and your enemies are easy to understand and the solution to your problem in here only require you and your brain. lovely.
There is incentive to grind, have fun and find new approaches here.
With 5 Characters most people should atleast find one they enjoy and with the devs actively listening to feedback and suggestions and already proving more capable than inflated ego AAA devs i highly recommend this game to anyone that could see themselves having fun with this underappreciated Gem of a game.
It's fun, it's cheap, life's short so play some games.
