This is probably the best board game I have played, on steam or off it. Just be aware that if you play a round with real human opponents, it's going to be long and drawn out. Thankfully the computer opponents do just fine, generally.

Yes, I think this is a great game. The board game itself is really interesting: it's a blend of worker placement, some deck building, and a sort of poker-like skirmish, and they all interact with one another. It's a great game design. Then, the digital adaptation is excellent. The layout is really clean, and very graphic. Everything behaves the way you expect, graphically - the cards expand when you hover over them, there are just right number of visual clues as to first player, whose turn, score, and so on. It is a great piece of graphic design. I am really looking forward to seeing what Dire Wolf do with Arcs :-)

Really fun board game with elements of deck building and worker placement. The onboarding could be a bit more clear, after the tutorial had to watch someone play on youtube for the basics of the game to clic, at least basic strategy to survive and explore upon. The provided scenarios are really fun. Ai can be challenging to beat. I can't judge lore/IP wise, have just read part of the original book series decades ago, but if you remember that in the end it's all about spice, you'll not be lost. The only downside, I tried to play with someone through family sharing, but it's sadly not supported, meaning a licence will be required for each players even if you use the family sharing feature to share game licences within your home. Hope this change overtime, but little to no hope for that to happen.

Client is horrible, you play 3 ranked games, you shut down the damn client, then every time you reopen it and go to multiplayer you get a million prompts asking you to re log in to your last game. IT ENDED 25 hours ago, cant these prompts get reworked you fuckwits?!

Just one thing: never ever play Ranked. I'm not sure even LoL is more unwelcoming than this. No chat moderation at all, no abandon penalties. If you plan AI games... Well enjoy it.

Solid port of a pretty good board game. Dune is a worker game - if you have played games like Lords of Waterdeep you will be familiar with the basic mechanics. You start the game with a couple of workers ("agents" in the game parlance) and have the ability to acquire one more. Board locations are colored and you have to play a matching card to send an agent there, and if an agent is already there you can't (in most cases) send one of yours there. It is also a deck-building game, where the main gameplay deck for each player starts off with 10 crappy cards and you buy cards over time at the end of every turn - and destroy cards in your deck now and again - to make your deck better. The basic gameplay is simple but the game is a lot of fun, having a complex enough strategy where you will be thinking through your turns, but not so complex that the AI on hard mode is completely handicapped. You will still win many games against computer players, but you will lose often enough to keep yourself entertained, and if that isn't enough for you the multiplayer is very robust. I generally like board game ports to the computer because they make the game easier to play. No more setting up, sorting out pieces, rolling dice, cleaning up afterwards. This sort of task is one of the many things computers were made for and this does a fine job of that. The Dune skin is nice too, I'm a big fan of this IP so it adds to my enjoyment. An expansion is out. The expansion is OK. As with many board game expansions the added complexity doesn't add much to the game. Dune is well designed as-is. Still, it's reasonably fun to work through the new version. Worth picking up if you like this style of board game.

I’ve been really enjoying Dune: Imperium! As someone who loves the original board game, I was excited to see how they’d translate it to digital, and I think they nailed it. Gameplay: The mix of worker placement and deck-building is super fun. There are so many ways to approach the game, whether you want to focus on faction alliances, resource gathering, or just go all-in on combat. I’ve played quite a few times, and each game has felt different, which keeps things interesting. Visuals and Sound: The visuals are gorgeous! The art does a fantastic job of capturing the Dune vibe, and the interface is pretty easy to get the hang of. Plus, the music and sound effects really add to the immersion—sometimes I just sit back and soak it all in.
