I played one night hot springs and fell in love with it. This actually felt like a believable future for them and the game just made me so happy. Easily the best game I've played in a while.

Though simple and short, this game tells a really powerful story about coming to terms with identity that i havent seen done in any other game before. A must play for anyone under the LGBTQ umbrella

A YEAR OF SPRINGS draws heavily from earlier queer games in terms of its mechanics and narrative. It feels very similar to, for example, Anna Anthropy's Dys4ia. So, should you bother playing A YEAR OF SPRINGS if you've already played those games? I think yes, as least as a Westerner. While these Western games such as Dys4ia speak to my own trans and queer experiences, I actually preferred A YEAR OF SPRINGS because it showed how those experiences are both similar and different in a different cultural context. I think it's really interesting to see the game's representation of queer people in Japan, and reminds us how our own understandings of queerness and gender and sexuality are all inflected through specific cultural contexts. So if that also sounds like something you would want to know more about, I would definitely recommend A YEAR OF SPRINGS.

A Year of Springs has been a game i picked up and played at various points in my transition. It filled me with worries about the future and what the world may perceive me as. It Filled me with joy and let me relax due to the comfyness of the game's soundtrack and art. It also filled me with sadness, reminding me of the early days of my journey and really would stop me in my tracks to just cry. I feel Haru is a great representation of the trans experience as many things she talks about I understood and felt 1-to-1.
I feel if you are questioning or transgender yourself this game is a great pick up especially if you wanna look back and cry.

As a trans woman, this game hurts. As a human, it hurts even more. But the pain is really good, while showing the struggles living life from a queer perspective, it also has very heartwarming moments, Games like this give me hope for humanity.
