I would not recommend this game as a horror game. I feel like it has a lot of potential as a horror game but due to the frustration of movement. The game losses any sort of suspense and is replaced by frustration. Some people have mentioned that the lack of a tutorial was an added challenge; I didn't find this to be true for myself. However I did find a lot of difficultly reading the text. As well as finding the tempo for the movement difficult especially at slower tempos.
The text being hard to read is not a huge problem as the text is read out loud and I got used to it over time. Though for people that are better at spelling than me I'm sure this is even less of an issue if it is an issue at all. Though for the issue of movement the tempo is very hard to find. I died severely times just trying to move around the areas and spent a bunch of time sitting in one spot just waiting for the heartbeat to go down. This made it very frustrating when most of my time is either spent sitting around waiting to be able to move without dying or trying to get back to a point that was right before I got killed just to march into death again. For as long as it takes to move around the areas you just lose anything that makes it scary. Honestly the most scary thing about it was how I was about to pick up my keyboard and chuck it across the room in frustration.
Despite all of it's issues when it got me, it was a good scare! I think what would help is by adding a difficulty setting between easy and hard. For hard you could just leave the game as it is and it could be for players that want a more difficult challenge. For easy mode I feel like just one addition would help. Maybe you could add a tempo bar like in "Crypt of the Necrodancer". Another option would be to just add in more save points so at the very least you don't have to travel as far. This might have only been an issue early game as I did not get super far into it. Furthermore you could also just not have movement be able to kill you. How like in "Crypt of the Necrodancer" you simply don't move when you miss the beat. Although I feel like this would make it too easy and lose the stress that comes with how the movement is already which would cause the game to not be as scary as it could be.
Overall, I feel like it is a good game with a lot of potential but that anything good that it has it just completely overshadowed by a single issue that causes a lot of frustration.

Good game for Angry Video Game Nerd. Terribly frustrating and a very lack luster experience.

Had no issues with moving on the beat, receiver/phone gives you story and tutorial which is nice.
Find it fun and always start panic typing when the monster starts getting close.
Great map design, love the art style and the lighting.
Voice acting is good too.
Worth getting for the price.
Side note: works on Linux with proton 7.0-4 perfectly

This game is amazing! I would highly recommend!
The whole game aspect of it is really cool, I like the fact that you have to move on the heartbeat (hence the name) and I like the 16 bit style!

This game made me realize I have no rhythm or typing skills. I actually really did enjoy the mechanics and uniqueness of the game even though it was quite frustrating at times. If you want to see some game play you can check out my video below.
