Highly recommended. Addictive logistics-oriented railway simulator. Again, you are simulating LOGISTICS, not train driving, on an extensive railway line. In the career (story) mode a massive flood has completely washed out large areas of a local river. You'll need to transport cars full of construction materials to areas affected by the flood. While you're doing that, you'll need to maintain passenger service to the areas that demand it in order to keep your reputation up. Higher reputation gives discounts and other benefits, like discounts on the building materials mentioned above. Initially, hauling logs from the logging camp to the sawmill will pay much better than running passengers, so get a 2nd loco as soon as you can. All in all, great fun and as I said, quite addicting. I really get the "just one more day" vibe. Just one more thing... It's all there.

Best steam engine sim out there. Managing multiple engines at once as well as the switching, Its all very simplified in this game, with multiple guides to help your company thrive!

This game has a great future with a wonderful set of fun activities already in game. The modding community is truly a fantastic group. The only thing I would advise for the developers is to keep up the high quality work you are doing, never stop the high quality, I would also enjoy seeing more small to medium size steam and more passenger equipment. UI development such as the timetable is exactly what this game needs, I am proud of the devs for their hard work, keep it up!

This does operations very well and still gives a semi realistic approach to operating trains. There are 2 main ways to play either with manual control of the locomotives or with the in game "AI or Auto Engineer" that just needs to be baby sat while you as the President of the company can attend to other duties. All in all it does the operation side of actual railroading better than TSC or RO could ever dream of.

This is the railroading game I’ve been waiting years to play. As it stands now, even in the Early Access state, Railroader has so much to offer and a lot to do. Its primary aim is to simulate railroad logistics in the Transitional Period, covering everything from yard switching and freight to passenger service as well. Don’t go into this expecting in-depth operation of locomotives—the controls are simplified in order to make the overall task of running a short line much more approachable to a wider player base. And that’s completely fine by me, as this is a video game at the end of the day.
When it comes to the equipment itself, there are a wide variety of steam locomotives to choose from, as well as a couple of diesel engines that serve as more of an “end game” acquisition. While I enjoy operating the different steam engines, I’m certainly looking forward to using more diesel down the line (I’m a diesel guy after all).
Highly recommend picking this up if you’re a railroad nerd!
