Quite enjoyable progression & race game. First you built up your skills mostly in avoidance mini games. When you are maxed out you can race against 4-5 CPU auto-skill generated opponents in 4 worlds a 6 stages. There's also a currency as seeds which you earn on race wins. With that you can buy even more upgrades (XP Boost, Max Life). Fun fact: The climber skill was first my strongest skill, but with the glider skill I could fly above the most of the parcours. Also the swimming skill is a fun of eating 200 smaller fishes to grow screen size big. It could be only topped by an online mode (I haven't tested out the drag race mode, yet or the birb empire).

Fun little game but the clouds look at me a little too suggestively. Also I spilt milk all over my bluetooth keyboard and it doesn't work and I partially blame this game for that. It's the most milk I've ever spilt, just a mess. Again fun little game.

Upgrade your birb to become the ultimate birb.
I had a lot of fun with this game and the trophies kept me going back to play the training games over and over. I've always been a fan of games that have an upgrade system to feel like you're really making progress each time you play (Hedgehog Launch, Learn to Fly, etc.).
As another reviewer said, the actual race segment is very reminiscent of chao garden races from Sonic Adventure. They're fun to sit back and watch and also allow you to gauge which stats you need to improve and train before you try racing again.
Took me about 3 hours to unlock all the trophies and max stats/upgrades. Definitely recommend this game!

Music - Wonderful, could listen to it all day
overall 10/10 would constantly play again and again. Lovely game that has a well balanced time investment in it. Can enjoy a hardcore playthrough to the end or enjoy a slow and steady playthrough.

Become the best birb!!!
I love the mini-games you have to play to make your birb stronger! They can get so crazy and fun the longer you play, and the variety of the games is fun too! Then, when you're finally done with the chaotic mini-games, its time to race! Just sit back and relax as your birb races through the course, leaving the other birbs in the dust!
All in all though, really cute and fun game, I enjoy watching the races and cheering my little birb on. Then going back to play more mini-games to make my birb faster for the tougher races ahead.
10/10 Would birb again.

100 % playthrough (once it uploads): https://youtu.be/O1a6hhyLIn8
100% Transparency I love pet training/competition games they're one of my favorite genres so I'm biased, but this really reminded me of having a chao garden in sonic adventure 2, but better because instead of feeding your birb small animals you train it through mini games. The mini games are simple, but pretty fun and didn't feel too mundane throughout actually enjoyed them for the most part the achievements are super simple to get and the races are a nice break from the mini games they also can be pretty intense too even if your birb is strong I maxed my birbies speed and he almost struggled on the last stage. i think doing the birbie empire at the end of the game was a strange choice by the creator to be honest I feel like you get enough seeds to get all the achievements/max everything way before the end of the game so it kind of loses it's use. Overall I definitely recommend it!
Casual hybrid of incremental game and a mini games compilation
In Birb Race the goal is to train an ultimate race birb. Birbs, or cartoon birds for the uncultured swines, race over 2D maps over land, air, and sea. Racing is automatic; training is manual gaming labor.
There's 4 kinds of mini games to train the birb in the four forms of locomotion:
1. Walking: Auto-run platforming. You use mouse left-click and right-click to jump over spikes and get as far as possible.
2. Climbing: Fly up a mountain (birb follows the mouse), while dodging falling spikes and collecting fuel.
3. Gliding: Glide (birb follows the mouse), while dodging spikes and collecting packages from balloons.
4. Swimming: Traditional ~~fish~~ birb eats smaller ~~fish~~ birb and grow bigger mini game.
Playing the mini games makes the birb faster in the races. Races in turn give you seeds to buy upgrades for the mini games, like more lives or increased XP multipliers so you can "train" more efficiently. It's a feedback loop where both games affect each other.
Steam achievements only pertain to the races and mini games, however there's some after-chievement content: a semi-idle incremental clicker "Birb Empire" that produces seeds by simple clicks, and another type of race, "Birb Drag", with its own upgrades and an active QTE-style component. Its progress is again coupled with Birb Empire and vice versa. Empire needs active clicking though, and the screen freezes when the game window loses focus, so mind that it's not a proper idle-incremental (mini) game.
I was done with the achievements in 50 minutes but even fooled around with the Empire and Drag a bit afterwards.
Recommended for some casual, short-lived fun. It's certainly cheap enough for that.
