Clearly a labor of love on the part of the developers, this game features excellent artwork and attention to detail. It has clearly made trade-offs regarding layout mechanics to make it as easy as possible for the user to create their own layouts while still providing a broad selection of components (trains and setting items).
As an owner of a number of train modeling games, I like the selection of components and the art style of this game quite a bit. This one feels the most like working on a model railroad, without a steep learning curve to get where you'd like to be. I like many of the other offerings in my library, but I would say this game has the quickest zero-to-completed model factor.

I haven't put a lot of hours in yet so I can't give a full review. But one thing I would like to see is the ability to clip objects together to make a new ones. I had made a really nice mountain and then was going to run a train through it, only to find out the tunnel track has to be on flat ground and you can't build anything around it and not even close to it, which feels like it defeats the purpose of having a nice tunnel. I also can't merge roads together to make them country style. Also terrain disappears when placing objects, some ruins would look way better with clipping allowed.
Overall I recommend it for now because I like trains and the concept of making model train layouts without spending real life money. When I find time to come back to play it I'll update this review if anything has changed.
