Do you like the FFV jobs system? Do you like NG+? Do you dislike slow grinding and always having to select the same commands over and over again? If you say YES to each of these questions, then welcome to this game. The class system in this game is similar to FFV in a way that not only you retain all skills after learning them while changing to another class, you also gain attribute points that you can distribute across different stats. Any stats gain will also be carried over to the next class change. Class changing is also free of charge. In short, you get stronger the more levels you gain. Imagine using black magic with a warrior or dealing massive physical damage as a mage. This is the class system that you will encounter in this game. There are also shortcut keys that you can bind a maximum of 30 skills to use in battle. This is to cut down the time to find and use the favourite skills that you keep using. There is also a quick raid shortcut function by pressing the ` button(below Esc) on the keyboard. This works in battle only after beating a specific group of enemies for the first time. The game will recognized the specific groups of enemies you have defeated and hence quick raid is enabled for these groups. You can just press ` for an instant win even when you're being ambushed. This effectively speeds up the grinding process or annoying repeating battles that you come across so that you can just enjoy the story. [Quick raid: This is L1 + R1 if you're using a Playstation controller, or LB + RB on the Xbox controller] This is not the usual turn-based combat that the usual RPG Maker has. Instead, skills cost SP and SP is accumulated over time which is based on the speed attribute. There is an option to adjust the speed of battle. Even normal attack and defend command requires SP. As long as anyone in your party has the required SP to use a command, you can just initiate a command. So the more SP you have, the more consecutive actions you can take while the enemies take all the beating without moving. There are also over 300 skills, with skills learnt by default from classes and also by combining using different skills in battle. There are many new skills which can be combined and some of these can be quite intuitive and interesting. Storywise, there are a total of 14 Missions (or main objectives) excluding the first mission that is given to you on the initial island. These missions/stories can get interesting and engaging. Depending on the choices or actions you make, there are 2 different outcomes for each mission. Apart from missions, there are also sidequests which can net you valuable rewards. These sidequests are not obvious to the player when doing random interacting so sometimes it won't be immediately evident to you that you have triggered a sidequest. With that said, the game does have its flaws: [Translation errors and ambiguity] As this game is originally in mandarin chinese, the whole game is being translated using google. Hence, there are translations which does not make sense or ambiguity in the names of skills, towns and npcs. These can cause confusion to english speaking players. [Random ambushed battles] Despite having a passive skill that increases the rate of pre-emptive battles and having high stats across the party, there were occasionally times where the party was ambushed by weak enemies in the early areas of the game. This is not a big issue as quick raid shortcut button can be used. I am hoping someone can help fixed the translations because this game is fun to play. There is a PC demo available for download before you can decide if this game suits your taste. Also kudos to the developer for fixing an issue within just a few hours. Thank you for helping with my last achievement in this game. Recommendations for QoL feature: bind a page up/down button on the playstation L2 and R2 button so that the players can scroll to the next page faster in the items page rather than scrolling down.
