Deltarune is not rlly a sequel to undertale but a spin-off.
It's filled with funny dialogue , loveable characters and a great story. At first game might be seem like a silly lil adventures of our friends into a dark world but as it hits the end of 3rd chapter , it get's way more serious. Each chapter feels rlly unique and it show's allot of important mechanics.
Fighting system is improved version of undertale's one , with each character having unique abilities , Kris being the leader , susie the brawler and ralsei healer/support. Cool addition to dodging is that the closer u are to projectiles the more TP u get for special moves.
Artstyle is a rlly big thing too , Toby's artstyle is unique imo , it has a little "crap" in it but I think it gives charm , haha. Animations and designs are adorable , with main fights having unique little sprites for special attacks. Music is rlly good and there's plenty of variety.
This review is little all over the place but for games like deltarune or undertale u just gotta try them out and u will either love or hate them. For me personally , deltarune is just upgraded version of Undertale but it's not like a replacement more like a diff experience with same rules. 10/10

I really liked UNDERTALE, so when the first chapter of DELTARUNE was initially released some 7 years ago, I was hooked. It's what you come to expect of it and more: charming characters with a banging soundtrack, fun and engaging fights, full of secrets, little details, and foreshadowing elements that will keep theory crafters occupied for a long while, and the list goes on. I'm replaying certain chapters for the third and fourth time and there's just so many little details of dialogue in all directions, showing how much the game notices every little thing you do, it's nuts!
But then, each successive chapter that's been coming out has given us more lore, more interesting writing, better polished fights, more emotional scenes, more more more more more. I'm super impressed with how far the team has come for chapters 3 & 4. Where I was a bit concerned at the end of chapter 2 that the story might be a little confused at times, the next chapters have really been shaping it into a more cohesive whole, and I CANNOT wait to see where this goes. This is definitely "one of my favorite games of all times" material right there.

Deltarune is one of those rare games where it feels like it just does everything right. I enjoyed my time with this game immensely even though only 4 out of 7 chapters have been released so far.
Toby Fox is known for his distinct and catchy music starting with Undertale, and with Deltarune he didn’t disappoint either. The soundtrack for the game is consistently great, with fitting tracks played everywhere and never once being obtrusive or annoying. Leitmotifs are present throughout the game and are always played at the right moments. There are already many iconic boss fight tracks that are fun to listen to outside the game as well. I loved the music in Undertale and I also love it in Deltarune.
The actual gameplay of Deltarune is very good as well. There’s quite a bit of exploring, some short puzzles, fights, and conversations with NPCs. All of these feel worth the time you put into them. Exploring always leads to a small (or big) secret, some extra dialogue, or some extra flavor. The puzzles are almost never frustrating but not too easy that they feel insulting. The combat is very diverse, with every fight feeling different and requiring a unique approach. It can get hard but there are usually ways to make fights more manageable. There’s also usually a point to the fights and they don’t feel like they’re just filler.
The graphics of the game might seem a bit simple at first, but the environments can be really detailed and immersive regardless. The atmosphere just feels right. The characters look cute and lively and fit into the world. The writing of the characters is another aspect that is consistently high quality. The characters are written in a believable way, with dialogue that you could hear a real person say. Their reactions and emotions are convincing and they all have their own distinct way of speaking that’s easily recognizable.
As for the story, it’s intriguing from the start of the game already and stays that way throughout the game. The story moves forward in a way that makes sense and that makes you wonder every time what’s going to happen next. It isn’t predictable at all yet still contains foreshadowing, so it never feels like events happen out of nowhere. Your choices do actually matter and affect the characters, the outcome of certain scenes and the endings of some of the chapters.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Deltarune to anyone and I’m looking forward to future chapters that will most likely be as good as the previous ones.

dude this game is too hard, like what the hell i cant even beat chapter 3 because Tenna is distracting me too much for me to pay actual attention. needed to keep restarting the chapter because all i did was look at him and didnt read the dialogue. why did they make this man so attractive its messing up my gameplay. I thought i had enough distractions with Spamton. Took me way too long to get past him and then with his neo form?? was there for at LEAST 4 hours looking at him. then you hit me with this tall, goofy, sexy beast? absolutely criminal. so thanks for making such an amazing character that i dont want to harm.

I was still in primary school back when Chapter 1 of Deltarune released, and I hadn't even heard of a Sans yet. Then in high school, I got to witness the release of Chapter 2 and interact with the fandom in anticipation. Now that I'm in University and the game is still only half-way done, I'm beginning to realise that this game is way more than just fun adventures in the Dark Worlds: It's about growing up. The Dark Worlds are temporary experiences that you can't remain in forever, but the recruits act as ways to reminisce and remember times shared with these people. Both Undertale and Deltarune have also made me realise that sometimes trying to discover every possible outcome isn't worth it. Wanting Frisk and their friends to live their life happily on the surface is why to this day I've never done a Genocide run and hardly ever reset unless I want someone else to try the game.
