Sadly no animated sky, but does a good job with a very customizable static sky.

I like Sky Creator.
This review is mainly a memo to myself that others might have use for.
My workflow to create an HDRI map from Sky Creator:
1. Go to Settings [F4].
2. Click the [...] and select a folder. Click save as ".EXR" or ".TGA".
3. Click [Export...] - It will save to the last folder and format chosen in the Settings menu.
4. In Photoshop; import image and the alpha channel data as "alpha-channel", not layer.
5. Create a circle selection around the sun.
6. Sample the color of the sun. Increase intensity of that color to about 14.
7. Fill the circle selection with the current color that you just changed the intensity of.
8. Delete alpha channel and flatten.
9. Save as .EXR for a 3D application.

i think this small program is awesome. better than trying to find the exact skydome online through hdri haven or something. this way you can make your own. people who complain that right now it can only export as exr or tga are just karens. just load the exr or tga into photoshop and export as a different format ez. it takes 10 seconds. you can use pocket change to buy this software, if it was a $100 software yeah sure complain about the export options, but its not. also i love the amount of controls you have over the clouds. bottom line if you want to create nice skydomes for your 3d renders then this is a great tool.

The software works as it intended it exports the file to a .tga and .exr format..
I recommend using EXR if you tend to use for DCC software (i.e. Blender, Maya, C4D), tga is not preferable for that. Although do not expect to have something like Unreal Engine level of sky creation, however if the creator can read my review, I hope he/she can improve it in time.
That's said, I would like to see these feature improvements. and the problems need to be fix that I see.
- Being able to export a real multiple exposure stops HDRI image that has the sun data because currently it only export a 32bit 1 stop image, so it is not that really useful when using it on something like Blender Cycles render, I still have to fake the sun by making one. I know this is not an easy task since it's a game engine rather than ray traced.
- Having an incremental slider adjustment (there's no way to do this, so im always quite frustrated about it)
- Being able to go outer space atmosphere and up the cloud view, because this is useful for flying scenes in animation or games.
- Adding 2 layer cloud atmosphere, one is altitude stratosphere higher and the usual lower altitude clouds.

This little tool does exactly what the store page offers and it is really easy to use and cheap too! Skys exported in exr can directly be used in Blender. However if you like to edit the sky and open it in GIMP (either tga or exr) it looks strange since there is an alpha channel which I didn't expect. To get rid of it is easy, if you know how to do it ;-)
Layer -> Mask -> Add Layer Mask
Select Option: Transfer layer's alpha channel (click add)
Layer -> Mask -> Delete Layer Mask
If you like to modify the sky in GIMP for artistic purposes I found it useful to first export the sky with the clouds how I like them to be and then remove the clouds (top most slider on the cloud setting) and also export this plain sky. Mixing those two skys allows for some nice effects!

I did find this a little deceptive. It does not let you export a skybox as indicated. It lets you take a picture of the sky you create. Those are very different things in practice. Given that is the purported function of this app, I can't recommend it for that purpose.

Its a nice and easy to use software, but the exporting doesnt work, so its basically useless.
I would recommend it but I cant because its not fully functional.
I also dont like that the developer doesnt respont at all...
Unfortunately i can't recommend it right now.

Nice but basic function, which will generate good enough results if you know what you are doing. Can't recommend it though, because the application is limited to above horizon skies, you can't create full skybox like you would want to have for spacegames for example.
Hope the developer will add that feature.
Only buy if you need a quick and painless generic skybox, any requirement above generic, the app can not meet. The price clearly saves it. Value for money is good.

Skies are not exporting properly, there are people asking why there are only clouds exporting in their outputs with no atmosphere or sun / stars and the developer has not responded.
The trailer video showcases it working properly and there isn't any checkbox that I can find that allows for exporting more than just the clouds.
Don't get this, yet..
