Given the price I bough this game for I am very happy thus far. The graphics are underwhelming and the AI is crazy, but in such a starved genre of game it will certainly suffice.

Bought this game just to write a review. I am a veteran of this game. It was my first shooter. If i can remember correctly i got this game near the end of 2005/begining of 2006. The name was still T-72 Balkans on Fire. I could master this game 11/12 years ago, I was a little kid back then. Because of this game i've started loving the tanks. I have played WoT, WarThunder and other games with tanks. But those arent real. You just move with WASD, and usually you just shoot where your mouse is. Here, you have 4 types of shells - BPS (armor piercing), OFS (fragmentation shell), BKS (High explosive) and UR (Guided missile). Every shell (and for each tank) should be aimed differentely. Also you can edit the levels of realism in cfg (Steam\steamapps\common\Iron Warriors\cfg) which is nice. Even tho this game is very dated, it still has a place in my heart. If you like tanks and you dont have a lot of money to spend on them. Buy this game.

A solid tank simulator. Even though the game is old it is still well done. Works on my win10 easily and without problems. The controls are quite difficult and you can't do anything about it other than practice. Also its based in my country and that is a + for me.

While subsequent Graviteam tanksims (Steel Fury Kharkov 1942 and Steel Armor Blaze of War) made successive and significant improvements to visuals and gameplay, this is still a rather good little package, especially at the low asking price. The missions in the nicely story-driven and character-based campaign are small-scale, including several where you're essentially on your own and up against weapons which will make short work of whatever tank you have (starting with the T-34-85). The implementation of the driver, gunner and commander roles is quite detailed, engaging and convincing and the sim delivers an excellent feeling of rumbling around in and operating a tank, especially the star, the ubiquitous T-72. Apply the Gastello mod to improve significantly the 3d models, scenery and sights (this disables the T34-85 as 'playable', and will return the in-game menus to Russian, but the top-level one is still in English and a fix is being looked into for the others). Read the manual and use the file cfg.bat to fine-tune settings that can't be touched in-game, including (in my case) setting the display to 1920x1080.

Every other mission something critical bugs out: -Zoom stuck on minimum or maximum -Turning lever stuck halfway -Autoloader crapping out 10/10 realism for Soviet tanks. Would highly recommend.

So lets get this strait. This is a tank simulator. If your expecting the arcade and simple to use controls of world of tanks or war thunder than look somewhere else. All in all this is a good game, a dam hard game but fun. The way it works is dont just control the tank outright but you control its crew. You can either take cantrol of a crew position directly such as the driver or gunner but you also give the crew orders when not in controll of them. So lets say your playing as the gunner, you need move the tank to a new position but you can't leave the gun, so you order your driver to move. Ordering crewmen around is not as accurect nor as easy as controlling them directly but you will need to get the hang of it The positions of crew are as follows Commander- does little in combat but is resposible for scanning for enemys and if you want to completly controll the tank via orders only, you play as him Gunner- mans the main gun, controlls the turret and coaxile MG, nuff said Driver- drives the tank of corse AA gunner- mans the big MG on top of the tank to deal with infantry, light vehicals and aircraft. This game is also extreeemly relistic as far as a simulator game from 2006 goes. Damage to your tank and is permanant so if you get your track blown off or your gun disabled part way through the mission, your done. Aiming the gun also reqiers you to find range and work with the flight path of the shell. While there is ways to have the details figured out atomaticly, for the most part you will be manualy calculating each shot. driving phsyics are heavy as well, go off a cliff, you break your track, go too fast around a bend, flip the tank. As one finaly note you actully have three tanks not just a T-72. You have T-34-85 a T-55 and yes a T-72 So all in all Iron warriors T-72 Tank command is a fun game, It's extreemly hard and defently dated to an extent but if your looking for a realistic military themed game or just like advanced simulators in general, this game is for you. UPDATE- I should mention that I run this on windows 10 and it runs ok. People have reported problems with getting this game to run but for any older PC game running on newer operating systems thats to be expected. So while I have had no problems with it that is not saying the game won't have troubles depending on your PC set up.

Okay, I decied to write a short review on this game. Currently the game is only 1,24 Euro, and after a few days the game goes back to its original 5 E. I'm writing this down because the price is definitely a big plus. As of the game itself, you will probably like it if you're into tanks and/or simulators. I am. Overall, I am quite pleased with the game. However, this is heavily influenced by its price. For 1,2 Euro, it's a great deal. For 5 Euro, I'm not really sure. You decide. Pros: +Terrain can be deformed (craters after explosions, you can dig tank trenches [UBER COOL] etc) +Ability to demolish buildings is interesting, reminds me of Frostbite :D +Spectator mode allows you to see where exactly did the shells hit the tank, which is both interesting and useful. +I like the thermal/nightvision scope :3 +Rather easy to learn +Ability to issue orders to other squads/tanks (though clunky) +DAT PRICE Cons: -Uninteresting mission design (go over there, kill a tank on the way, you win) -Only three (playable) tanks -No tank interior, only HUD -Bad functionality.. (the game menu and the game itself are separate programs, there are some issues with settings etc) -Does not support Steam Overlay (that is to be expected I guess) -MULTIPLAYER NOT WORKING!! (if anyone got it to work, PM me please) -Not too interesting, yet definitely original setting -I feel as if the controls are a bit clunky... Maybe you get used to it as time passes. -Physics seem broken if you happen to glitch it -Not too many missions (you can download some from the internet) -Translation from Russian is funny - why is there "Made in USSR" written on the speedometer? Also, the azbuka abbreviations to English is weird. Manual covers the explanations though. Overall, the game feels like a low-budget title of some minor Russian developer, but it can be clearly seen they did their best. I'm not sure whether I can call this game a real "simulator". It's more of a really realistic tank game (which is maybe even better for me, since you learn the ropes faster, yet it keeps the satisfaction from realistic experience). So, yeah. You decide. I don't regret getting this.

Pros - One of the few tanks sims that exists. Limited but fairly accurate and enjoyable, with high degree of customizability for realism settings. Includes mission/map/object editor. Co-op multiplayer allows up to 3 people to command a single tank. Cons - Confusing and likely not enjoyable for anyone who doesn't like simulators or has no clue about tanks/armored warfare. General clunkiness and quite dated. Good luck finding any user maps. There is a demo for this game, if you're on the fence track down a copy and give it a try. It's one of the few tank sims that actually exists so it doesn't have much to be compared to. It's reasonably accurate and entertaining but is extremely clunky and poorly programmed, going by how many loading screens you'll go through switching from menu to menu. Customizing individual graphical/realism options (other than putting it to low/medium/high/etc.) requires you to close the game and run a cfg.bat in the game directory. Despite being old and with a questionable build quality I haven't had any mysterious crashes or other game breaking bugs or issues despite running it on windows 7 64 bit, which actually makes it more stable than other current titles I play. The only glaring bug I've found is that you cannot reload the coaxial machinegun at all, the only workaround being enabling infinite ammunition which also gives you infinite shells for your main weapon. It's also quite challenging, and it's not helped by the default user settings having the enemy AI at quite a high level. You can't rely on your armor in the first few missions and will frequently have to restart due to your crew bailing out after a single hit. The AI will also spot you much earlier than your AI commander will be able to spot them. Thankfully there are a lot of options for realism settings and you can pick and choose until you end up with something you're comfortable with. The manual has plenty of information but is missing one or two details like the penetration of munitions used in game, and it was probably also in color at one point and has not survived the shift to black and white. There's nothing here for anyone who does not enjoy simulators, as while it is fairly streamlined compared to what it could be it still is a sim. It is only 5 dollars and there is not exactly a glut of other simulators to choose from. Find a copy of the demo if you're on the fence about it.
