The story is generic. The combat feels like its recycled from games decades ago. I blame the script for the horrid voice acting and the poor recording. THEy ACTUALLY ARE POPPING THE MIC!! There is nothing sarisfyi g about this game, from the clunky and numerous ways to level up to the clunky and overlly basic way of moving, to the monsters who just take a very long moment to fade with no satisfying graphics that you caused damage. DO NOT PURCHASE, AT LEAST WAIT TILL ITS UNDER 10 bucks

if cold steel 4 was the dramatic ending to the cold steel arc, consider this as the epilogue to cool you down after 4 games of cold steel and 2 games of crossbell. a love letter tribute to the characters we've been with for the last 6 games. tying up some loose ends, and even giving some nice character interactions here and there. if ur considering buying this game, ur already a trails fan so u should just get it at this point. dont forget to complete the post game stuff! makes you excited for the next arc falcom has in store! (which i will be buying after this review)

An amazing JRPG game and incredible series. Everything from world building to characters make it shine and lovable.

The story it presents is important moving forward. The game play is very standard of CS 3 and 4. The best feature is the roster. I was not wowed with a single thing the game offers but I think it is important to play if you fully want to understand all of the story of future games. You can make the roster the most overpowered yet if you are into that.

A weak entry in the trails series is still a blast in terms of JRPGS. The best and most rewarding gameplay from the cold steel saga with a weak/bloated story. Love the reverie corridor and the combat, so many fun ways to bend and break it.

Reverie gets rid of the (not really optional) sidequests that Trails games use to buildup their world to instead tell a very focused story. Its world has already been fleshed out from 6 previous games so it uses that. Reverie also throws aside balance and instead gives the player everything to make the most overpowered party possible. By the end of the game the player has every order, character and quartz in the series at their disposal. Even crazier is that players also get access to what is effectively infinite resources through the Reverie Corridor that is a combination of Phantasma of Trails the Third and Reverie Corridor of Cold Steel II. The gameplay is a very rewarding feeling experiment. Despite all of the grinding, this is pretty much the peak of all of the Trails games before it. It uses everything built up from the last two arcs to do something different in a way that feels like a reward for people who have played through all of the games.

Too many characters, too much "power of friendship", too many bosses are absolute bullet sponges that can one-shot you at their leisure (includes playable characters fought as bosses, even if they're useless as playable characters), too much of every single character on screen needing to say at least one line before the story can move on (including having to comment on the food they just ate or the tea they just drank), too not-exciting-enough battle music, too many aggravating minigames, too much Crossbell, too much Rean, too much Lloyd. Sigh. I wish the entire game could have been you playing as
C
and his much-more-interesting-than-SSS-or-Class7 companions. His side of the story is just so much more interesting and refreshing. BUT I STILL REALLY LIKE THIS GAME. So there you have it.

Kind of a slog at this point story wise but cool stuff did happen just really tired of class 7 and the characters in general still a good game with fun gameplay and some cool tunes.

Took place after Cold Steel 4. Three branch of main story with some new playable characters added. Post game dungeon with additional side story + teaser for the next game. Achivements quite time consuming but with turbo mode it can be shorten.
