Lemme start by saying that writing, creative design, and game mechanics in my opinion are great. You can really tell developers poured their heart and soul into making this labor of love. I am new to this series. This is the first game I played and I was totally drawn into the lore and world they built the more I played. ...which was a problem imho. Most players will pick the player character closest to their own personality or appearance, and then tend towards their “comfort character” as their RO. I did as such, and enjoyed the time I played, but when I went to join in on the fandom, I read that there are “canon” ships. Seeing the character I liked in almost exclusively cishet pairings in promotional artwork (therefore most likely canon) kind of crushed my enjoyment of it all. I play games as an escape, and for immersion, and this one decidedly brought up feelings of melancholy that made me feel that I don’t belong. Times like this make me really wish steam had a “mixed” review option.

Don't buy this if you're looking for local co-op. Game doesn't recognize controllers. Devs don't care to address the issue.

A wild ride from start to finish, no matter what roads you decide to head down. Zany, unfiltered and chaotic fun is guaranteed, with occasional touches of heartfelt sincerity sprinkled throughout. Truly, a damn good roadtrip. - Third Steam review, btw

The best paced of the first 3, and cooperative gameplay makes this a standout. They have tons of surprises, fresh air in every other encounter

The Good: I like to say this is my favorite Monster Prom game because it breaks the mold and introduces new mechanics. I like that no two road trips are the same. This one is definitely the best to play with friends because of the cooperative and competitive aspects. The Bad: There's a lot to this game. I haven't ever gotten a romance ending because I've been too busy trying to keep my stats in check and trying to hit locations I haven't been to before and making sure I don't mess up ranked scenes and doing pranks and challenges and trying to get my ideal hitchhikers. The Ugly?: I love all the new characters in this game. Every place you go, there's NPCs and they're all perfect. I'm so glad there's a gallery in this game so I can look at the pumpkin girl and the skinless villagers all the time. I recommend this game to people who enjoyed Monster Prom and have friends to play with.
