I found this game by stumbling across it's trailer on the game dev side of twitter, didn't know anything about it, but I found something pleasing about it.
Weapons Knight is a charming platformer that has a similar gameplay style to games such as Super Crate Box and Gunkid 99; Collect X amount of an object, and each object collected changes up your weapon which forces you to adapt quickly with the new chosen weapon.
I'm not about to blow the game out of proportion- it does have it's issues regarding game balance and performance in some areas- but "Weapons Knight was an enjoyable experience for me from start to end regardless, and I've no qualms about it's price point.
The game plays as this; You select a stage, your goal is to collect 10 crowns, and as you collect a crown, you get a random weapon and the next crown spawns somewhere else. Enemies spawn during this time, and they just get in the way; so kill them, get the money from them, and use that money to buy powerups to make future stages easier.
As you clear stages, you start unlocking more weapons to further increase the weapon pool that the game chooses from. Many of these weapons are fun, but a couple fall short in terms of effectiveness. This can unfortunately end a run if the next crown spawns very far away. Thankfully, some of the powerups in the game are incredibly useful, such as a longer dash, or a straight up jetpack, and you'll definitely want to make use of them when you play.
There's issues like the player not easily seeing where the crown is, a few frame drops, but all these could be fixed relatively quickly on the dev side of things, and I'll edit this review if that happens.
Oh- and the music is catchy, finding that I'm humming it to myself as I type this very sentence.
I definitely think the game is worth your 5 bucks; especially if you like to support the indie scene, and I'm looking forward to any potential future updates/patches.
