Cute simple city-building game. Nothing too complex and after 8-hours I feel like I've reached the end and there isn't much reason to keep going or replay. Something to keep in mind if you're considering value!

I was really excited to see the game release but sad to see the developers aren't supporting it as much as I had hoped, barely any patches since it came out. The game is fun and worth trying but its not really re-playable long term. I feel like once you've beat it there isn't a point to replay. I hope the developers support the game again, no patch or news since last summer is a huge let down.

The game is pretty, but unplayable in its current state. GPU usage is through the roof; running at 1080p, very low detail, VSYNC set to half (37 fps) and it is eating up 40-60% GPU use at the MAIN MENU. Not setting VSYNC will cause it to draw every frame, as fast as it possibly can. This essentially turns your GPU into a heater inside your PC.
Unless there's something done to greatly reduce the GPU load by the developers, stay well away from this.

I'm not surprised how many hours I've clocked into this game by this point. The game itself has been chill and relaxing for me when I'm between games that are more 'intense'. It's in that perfect space where I can let it go and do it's own thing while I'm AFK and come back to an event or a mission becoming available. And decorating my little citizens' homes with decor makes it all the more enjoyable to give it that personal touch to your kingdom. Expect me to clock in more hours as I go for the achievements!

I have tried several times to play this game. Each time, my GPU overheats something fierce.
I just can't justify killing a brand new computer, with a 4070 Super nVidia card.

Fabledom features straightforward city-building mechanics that are easy to grasp. The game is slow-paced, making it a great choice for those who prefer a more relaxed approach. Everything works as it should, and the mechanics are solid. Even on the "cruel" difficulty setting, the game doesn't present much of a challenge. The progression from growing vegetables to producing grape juice is a slow climb but feels faster compared to other city-builders. The hero and army is a nice add along with the troll cave which throws in a bit of combat every once in while.
At its current price at the moment i feel the game is still worth a buy to people who enjoy city builders which are more relaxed and not to chaotic. If your looking for a game though that you think your going to be building a crazy super fairy tale kingdom this is not for you.

I thought, from the trailer and the description, that I'd really like this game. A lighthearted city builder with a mythology theme, sounded right up my alley. Sadly, I was disappointed. Yes, it looks fun, and I like the 'court your way to a political marriage' mechanic. But the game is rather unbalanced (exactly HOW many coal burners do you need?!) and feels repetitive (oh look, there's the Faun event. AGAIN.) after not even 4 hours of playtime. I've had to look up how certain mechanics work in the discussion boards because it was just that unclear, and controlling the Hero seems rather counterintuitive. All in all, I kind of regret this purchase, and that's after getting it on sale. Too bad, as it really did have potential...

Fabledom is a fun take on the city building genre. It's much more relaxing and a lot less complex, but still offers some depth and keeps you busy with new buildings and mechanics throughout the game. You don't get attacked constantly and the management part is simple yet effective. All of this results in you being able to focus on your city, and the beauty of it, rather then digging through management menu's. It doesn't do anything remarkable or note-worthy but is just a fun little game for a couple of cozy game nights. The only downside I had is that the late game can be kind of tedious. At some point you unlocked almost everything, and it can take ages to finish the last couple of quest.
It's a short game, with a lovely style and perfect if you love fairy tales.

Bummed that there is really no updates for this game. It doesn't have a lot of replayability

Great games but it wants your computer to die. They seriously need to optimize this. My computer can run sims 4 with all dlcs no problem but a little management game is killing it.
