At first, the game felt really cool and different. It's got two main features: it's kind of turn-based (resources are used and generated at the end of a turn), but your turn only happens when you build something. Most of the time you're not just skipping turns, you're building what you need most. And the other cool thing is that to build something new, you have to destroy a resource deposit. This adds an interesting choice. But after a few hours, I realized I was spending most of my time not strategizing, but just painstakingly placing buildings. You can build anywhere that isn't blocked, but you mostly can't see what's blocking things! And even when you can, you need pixel-perfect accuracy to place buildings close together. Add to that the wonky angles of the edges of the buildable area (maybe 10 degrees apart?), and you get total chaos or really ugly slappy layout. This tedious part completely killed my enthusiasm. I hope the developer makes their next game with better building mechanics. And also, don't waste time on pointless combat.
