Im a huge fan of bees and tower defense games! This one has an adorable story and the levels are challenging enough to keep you engaged. I would recommend this to friends! Thanks for making such a cute game and the remastered version made it even better!

(I got this game free because I have the original beefense)
Beefense is a rts/ td hybrid. You send your bees to harvest resources in between waves. There are 4 resources- pollen, nectar, water, and honeydew.
Pollen- Money, used for building/ leveling up new towers and spawning new bees.
Nectar- Fuel. If it runs out, your bees will perform poorly.
Water- used to give towers a boost, improving firing rate, range, and I think damage.
Honeydew- Special Currency, used to unlock tower upgrades, beesearch, free caged bees, and buy ding balls and black ninja wasps.
The Plot is that the bees have to find a new home (because a factory pollutes the nearby land) while under attack by the hornet army. Then it gets silly. Queen Hornetta is after the bee's honey.... Because she wants to use it to wax her legs. Yes, really, hah. Turns out she originally wanted honey to try and cure her illness after falling into polluted waters. Wasn't enough, and she went mad.

What's good?

+The 'cutesy' aesthetic is consistent throughout the game.
+The music track, while lacking, is fitting. My favorite is the in-between music in the night levels.
+ Corny bee-related puns. Zombees, anyone? Rambee? Albeert Beeinstein?
+ 6 new levels, bringing the total amount of levels from 20 to 26.
Levels 21-16 involves the Bees basically preparing a concert for vacation. The band playing is "The beetles".
+Tower designs are creative, and have to be manned by a bee to actually bee used.

What's not so good?
_________________________________________
- By pressing 1-4, I can change the time of day in the 'main' 20 levels. What's the point of this? This night does not work like the later, end-game night levels. I guess it's just for looks.
- A bit convoluted mouse controls for using the dung balls. The game seemingly indicates you have to use the left mouse button, but you have to use BOTH mouse buttons.
- Tutorial is a bit too hand-holdy, and goes on too long.

I would not recommend this game for primarily these reasons:

-Broken achievements. They stop counting after a certain point. I'm not the only one with these problems.
>Technobee: Unlock all beesearch. Stops at 7/21.
>A load of dung: Use Dung beetle balls 25 times. Stops at 9/25.
> Not enough Honeydew! : Collect 100,000 total honeydew. For me, this stopped at 99,973-- just 27 short!
-VERY grindy if you wish to unlock all beesearch. Best exemplified by the 'beengineers' upgrade. It makes sense why it's so expensive, that it increases the lvl of towers you place, but the jump in price is too high. Lvl 1 is 8k honeydew. Lvl 2 is.... 25k. Lvl 3 is 50k.
Edit: seems like the aforementioned broken achievements have been fixed.

It's a pretty solid Tower defense I really enjoyed the music and some of the upgrades are pretty neat. The objectives can add a solid amount of difficulty as well, but if you just want to play through the game it's not too bad and they give you enough RTS gathering elements to keep you rather busy. I wish there was the ability to maze rather than just slap towers on the map and try to choose the best towers for the situation. Overall though the game was worth the $5.99 while on sale.

Pros:
1) Managed your resources such as water, pollen and nectar to ensure your bees are well fed and prepared to defend their honey.
2) Even if you forgot or earn enough honeydew from the stages, you can pause the game and buy the certain upgrade you want without leaving and resetting the entire level again. It is a great and creative anti-frustration feature.
3) Simple and Straight Forward mechanics and controls.
4) Each Towers have their own unique counters against certain enemies and vice versa.
5) Colorful, Bright and Cartoony Graphics which is a good introduction to strategy games for younger audiences.
6) The remastered version has 6 new levels with new features and mechanics with a decent continuation to the main story.
7) Some of the bonus levels are challenging and introduce new mechanics such as Night Level as Towers aren't able to see and attack enemies unless they enter the light.
Cons:
1) There is no timer to tell you how much time you have spent during the battle as some missions requires you to beat the level before the certain time. Some levels will reward you with a good amount of honeydew if you beat it on time.
2) There isn't a check list to show if you have complete the optional challenges or not unless you pause the game.
3) The level pacing can the slow at times if you are confident that your defenses are fully prepared or you don't care or have completed the challenges but fortunately you can call the wave early.
4) The game can be too easy and short for experienced strategists.
5) Towers' AI can be dumb at times.

very cute and nice tower defense. the game also involves a rts side where you need to manage workers and resources which makes it even more fun to work out the best strategy moving forward. Dont be fooled by the childish theme and look, the game gets pretty challenging in the later levels.

Pretty amazing game but I'm having trouble with level 7 since I can't move the dung beetle balls. Can anyone tell me how to move them. Other than that it's an amazing game.

I purchased this game for its adorable visuals. The concept is easy and straightforward, perfect for unwinding. Unfortunately, there are annoying dialog windows popping up every now and then. The game stays frozen until you skip over every single comment. This is extremely frustrating. I just wanna play a game in piece. I don't want any pop up windows disrupting the player experience - I'm simply not interested in any written story and I don't need to read a feature explanation over and over again if I replay a round. Why don't you just show a dialog window without freezing the game? It could have been such a cool game. This is so sad.

This TD game is infested with bad decisions on how to design a TD game.
You get to have horrible, unskippable dialogue at the beginning of each wave
You get enemies that look the same as your army
It's a grindfest of epic proportions to upgrade your abilities aka RPG traits
And the music just absolutely sucks.
I finally gave up after clicking through the dialogues for the upteenth time
