Fun game that only took about 6 hours to beat, and that was with me backtracking a few times a la metroidvania to buy some extra stuff. I paid less than 5 bucks for this and to me it was well worth it, though some people might find a dollar an hour to be less than valuable (though I come from a time when we used to spend a quarter to play SF2 for just a couple minutes, so this works for me). I do wish that there was more use for the "money" as your purse is often full with no use. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and lots of palettes to fit everyone's style. But the best aspect of this game is the MUSIC -- it is phenomenal! I found myself playing the game more than I normally would just to listen to the music. I hope a part 2 is in the pipeline, whether in this same style or more modern, as the story is great and there is plenty to expand upon. Well done devs!

There's two things that make this game so infuriating that I didn't wanna continue playing. 1. The different color palettes are a cool concept but end up being more of an annoying edition than an interesting one. I feel like most of them are a huge eye sore and they give the games art less of an identity. 2. The controls are incredibly clunky. Like I've played platform games on an actual game boy that have felt more responsive. I think it's a combination of weird controls and slight delay in your inputs that make this game feel unplayable. I don't know maybe these problems are just a me issue but personally I specifically the controls to be such a problem that I couldn't continue playing. If you can look past these issues there is probably a good game in here. But until these problems are fixed I'm not gonna force myself to suffer through them.
