Great Route!
The latest route for TS, and the first new one with TS 2022. First of all, let's start with the positives: 1. The route has excellent scenery, and is constructed well. Strasbourg and Karlsruhe main stations look great. 2. The FPS is pretty good, even in the massive Karlsruhe station. 3. It is one of the faster routes in TS which makes it thrilling, with speeds in the southern half reaching 250 km/h. 4. Great to have a route to cross two countries, very few if any of those about. 5. Update to the graphics of the ICE 3MF is very welcome, the previous cab and passenger view were showing their age. 6. Giving the ICE 3MF the ability to run from TVM as per real life is also very welcome, as it means it can be used on London-Faversham and Marseille-Lyon, the latter of which it runs on in real life. 7. The new cab textures in the TGV Euroduplex are superb, and the new passenger view is a nice touch too. 8. There is a variety of possible runs, including on the 186, 101, 146, IVE 3MF and TGV Duplex, plus ability to run other DLC like ICE 1, 2, T and Velaro D on it. 9. Expansive quick drive options which make it easy to drive the specific portion of the route you'd like. 10. Even though the scenery is mostly flat, it is very pretty. 11. The choice of route makes it very easy to link in with other DLC - a run from Dusseldorf to Strasbourg and Offenburg is now possible, more than 250 miles in length. There are however, some irritating bugs and omissions: 1. Chiefly, the TGV Euroduplex lacks its most useful feature, the TVM! It seems odd to provide it on the ICE 3MF and not on the TGV. This means that it's not as easy to drive on the Marseille-Lyon route, which is it's home territory, because braking in time becomes a challenge without TVM help. 2. The voltage change is not simulated - the last 10km or so are on French soil, and thus are on 25kV rather than 15kV as in Germany. This could have been done, as on London-Faversham or Marseille-Lyon. 3. There are no pantograph options for the ICE 3MF - being able to operate on multiple voltages, like the TGV, one should have the option and ability to change the pantograph setting. 4. There doesn't appear to be any LGV option for the pantograph on the Euroduplex. 5. Manual is very vague - doesn't go into details about the TGV; explanations on the various pantograph settings would be welcome. Having said all this, I do still recommend it. The route is done very well, and the various trains included provide great value for money. The main issues are with the TGV's actual simulation, it looks excellent and runs well, it's just missing a vital piece of kit!

This is one of the worst DLC ever put out in terms of trains. This route is an amazing choice because of many reasons : The fact that it is a continuation of existing routes, the high speed and slow services but mostly the diversity of train travelling trough the route. The problem tho is that cross-border means complexity even if it's for only 10kms. First of all the different signalling and safety systems : We go from a "well oiled" german signalling and safety system to a recycled, bugged, rushed and unrealistic "French" system (it just doesn't compare to the real one). Even the speed-limit signs are wrong (they couldn't even add a black border to the edges of the signs...). "Updated TGV". You guys told us on the preview livestream that the TGV got a significant update. What we have is the same buggy, feature lacking train but now with incoherent systems. The fact that you didn't want to show it on the preview stream just shows how SHADY your practices are. I wouldn't have bought the addon if you showed how you have butchered the TGV 2N2. Non exhaustive list of bugs: 1) The name, this version of the tgv DTG are lazily trying to reproduce is the TGV 2N2 or TGV Euroduplex as they said in the live article. Why not use that name in the actual game rather than just putting (KS) in front of it ?? 2) Why is it a weird mix of the old buggy TGV duplex and the BR 407 ???? The systems are literally the BR407's one with a bad KVB and a TGV model on top of it. BECAUSE YES, they didn't even bother to add the TVM !!! A TGV THAT YOU CANNOT RUN ON FRENCH LGVs. Incredible... (Also: the screens are in german, the TGV uses SIFA instead of VACMA, the train has AFB instead of "Vitesse imposée". Again showing that it's using the BR407 systems) 3) Another issue is the pantographs and the current management in general. The pantographs rising are just the wrong ones. Not that it mattered anyway, you can select whatever current and the train will work. You can also see AI trains driving around with all of the four pantographs up if (If was the guy doing the animations I would be mad that they aren't usable vy the players). NB: This is a general issue with all the "cross-border" trains of this line : why not implement the ability to change current and at the same time safety system, rather than having them enabled at the same time and having the wrong pantographs up? 4) The dynamic brakes are broken thanks to the fact that you are mixing a combined dynamic/pneumatic brake system (br407) and a system were both can be operated separatly (just look at the "engine effort" screen that shows that there is dynamic braking even when you're only using pneumatic brakes) 5) When variating power intensity the power cuts (AFB didn't fix that problem I guess :( ) 6) Instrument lights + gauges broken. 7) high / low beam headlight switch inverted. 8) Passenger information system wrong, the screens outside the train next to the doors are LCD ones. They also all display different destination information, one wagon goes to Paris, another one to Marseille, that's worrying when you're actually going to Frankfurt. AND A LOT MORE........................ Why are the TSW guys not doing the systems for railworks aswell ? TSW's TGV is not perfect but a LOT better than this. Even better : why are you guys not outsourcing to French modders / devs, pml3's 8 yo (if I remember right) TGV is better than the one we get from DTG in terms of systems and Simexpress's trains are just some of the most realistic trains available for Trains simulator right now. I won't refund the route because I hope at least some aspects of this mess are updated in the future (probably train sim 2024) to make it at least a bit enjoyable for me, for now I'll use the okay ICE 3 MF (which also has some of the issues the TGV has) and third party trains which I would also recommend to other players : Chris train's BR186 (or K-trains but it doesn't have French systems), 3Dzug ICE 1 and 4 aswell as the Velaro D. If you enjoy casual driving, pray for a hotfix and then buy it. If you like a somewhat realistic driving experience and don't have a lot of money to spare just don't bother.

If you take the full route from Strasbourg to Karlsruhe you'll have a 12 hour(!) long journey of +/- 90 km length of route. However, when I enter Germany my train suddenly stops accelerating.. I'm not much of an expert to know why this happens, if someone can help me out with this in the comments..? I know it probably has something to do with the pantograph due to different amperes from France, but I just don't know how to fix this.. My brakes are OFF by the way. I didn't ignore a red light signal.

This is a extraordinary route, very well done. In the reviews it failed to mention the new skies and sun, at 06H00 in the morning it just look awesome. I really can recommend this route indeed, very well modelled, high FPS on my low end PC and very beautiful scenery, great job DTG

Route is nice BUT: ICE3M not working KVB and can not activate. Buttons from manual not support activation, same button should open KVB and TVM same time? SNCF TGV train: buttons all active PZB system. KVB and TVM not activating at all and not working. Can you fix it? Or set new manual where correct buttons. KVB monitoring not showing anything at all on those trains. Stations and quick drive mode working good.

Overall great route design. Including both lines south of Karlsruhe is a big plus, and together with the scenery the route gets a solid 9/10. Regarding the rolling stock, it is the same recycled German stock (ICE 2, ICE 3, BR 101, DoStos etc...) however the addition of the SNCF TRAXX locomotive is a nice addition. However the TGV is MISSING the TVM systems which really destroys the realism, even if TVM isn't used on the route itself. Overall I enjoyed the route and will enjoy making my own scenarios to play on it.

The Strasbourg station looks great (inside). Everything else is bad. The Strasbourg lanes are on two levels IRL, not in the game. The TGV 4700 is blue when it's Carmillon irl, the sounds are recycled again, the brake indicators are awful, no TVM, etc It's bad, if it wasn't for Strasbourg being my hometown I'd have refunded it...
