A very immersive and enjoyable route especially running through Newbury and the Westbury portions from and to Reading to Bristol Temple Meads and the Bath to Exeter run using a variety of traction. My favourite was the Class 52 in it's BR maroon days because of the wide cab and vista windows and very easy controls. Another reason I chose this as a passenger fast service was the need to remain in cab view as a necessity against turning off constant alarm warnings prior to the large stations approaches including the very interesting Westbury triangle with it's quick range of speed limitations. This was in exploration mode, quick drive of course and with the wide screen I could really enjoy the magnificent and very accurate scenery. I ran a shorter passenger standard Steam to Exeter from Bath earlier but was 'caught out' without the AWS and brought to a standstill too many times as when running simple control steam engines I usually use exterior camera view not quite being up to pro driving just yet, though the engine performed very well (a DT 2-6-4 purchased through them) with a speed of 70+ mph in QD. Fortunate to purchase this in a recent sale but it is more than worth the full price IMHO. However the caveat being I don't know why I cannot reach or use Paddington joined up as that is also a modern route.

I very much regret the purchase. Firstly, it is far too expensive and secondly, and this is particularly annoying, contrary to the product description, it is NOT compatible with quick drive. That was the last time I bought something from Just Trains.

I decided to try this despite the poor reviews, as I was excited to try a route I was familiar with in real life. Unfortunately, I suffered the same issues with missing textures making the route look like a winter wonderland. I had everything that needed to be installed, and tried multiple attempts. Don't bother purchasing this.

Do not buy, even in a sale the fact is if you already have the other earlier, Southwestern Expressway:
Bristol, Taunton & Exeter Route Add On.
Which has been removed from Steam as a purchase, but it still remains in Your library, You can still download it through Steam and reinstall, problem is You purchase this one it messes with Your Registry and they if You have both they “CRASH” TS, especially
Windows 11, You have to restart Your computer without signing out of the game and Steam,
When You reboot Your computer,
You end up with two cache write files, in RailWorks!
Proves they “CLASH” and cause inadvertently more problems!
Like having to cleanup registry's files, and even force You into uninstalling the whole of,
Train Simulator and reinstalling it after Your Registry has been cleaned up!
Totally SKANKING Your money and time, even can damage Your Computer!

I have had the stand-alone JT Bristol to Exeter route for over 13 years, just now decided to get this DLC on sale for $12.47. All runs fine for me. I do not have the issues of missing assets and / or game crashes reported by previous reviewers. There are a few places where oil seed rape is growing through the tack bed in stations, but I can overlook that for the price I paid. It's a good route to run the new AP Valenta Pack on. Also there is a free scenario pack available at the Just Trains website, 6 scenarios using default stock and the same 6 duplicated but using additional purchased stock.

Very enjoyable and nice network of routes with good speed changes along the way. Included scenarios cover all parts of the network of routes. Just Trains Common library is included with the route.

I have experienced the issues of missing assets just like some of the other reviewers of this DLC. That is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for a 30 quid DLC. Thankfully, that has been fixed recently however I still cannot recommend this for other reasons such as the assets being from 2013, the poor quality of the textures, and the fact that they left out the Swindon - Reading part of this route. This is definitely not worth £30 in any way and I would strongly advise to hold off from buying this. Had these issues not been present, I would have recommended this.

Excellent route and a boon that you can use several free roam scenarios. Hopefully at some point in the future someone will take the initiative to merge this route with the Just Trains Highbridge & Burnham to Plymouth route and also link from Reading to Paddington and down via Didcott on to Swindon and link up at Chippenham. What is also frustrating is that although very detailed scenery has been completed on the branch from Castle Cary to Yeovil, the line abruptly ends in a field approximately a mile from Yeovil Penn Mill.

Currently 75% of the routes assets are missing. Something to do with asset licences being removed. Would not waste money on this until its fixed

The route itself is nice, very long and detailed nicely just a shame the stock is older than time itself it'll be another route you will find swapping the stock out for something better quality.
