Despite all appearances, this game is NOT a gacha/free to play model game.
This game is a pretty cool tactical rpg game with some pretty interesting mechanics. The stages allow you to tackle them through the good ol' fashion way (knock their HP to 0) or using the surround mechanic. If you surround an enemy with obstacles and party members, you can have them instantly destroyed! Watch out though, this does work on you as well with the enemy. There's been some interesting battles where I had to really consider my strategy to obtain a quick victory.
There are some RNG elements involved. The maps will have branching paths and options that do affect the story, and provide you with treasures, heals, and other bonuses.
To top it off, the stages go quick. Make sure you have some time to dedicate for each session. This game gets you hyped to play, "just one more node," with ease.
The story is a cool concept, but execution here is, hmm, well, it may or may not be to everyone's taste.
You can pick a boy or girl at the start. They do describe each of them as having different skill sets but cannot confirm this myself yet. I chose the male character for my first time through the game.
Essentially, you and the party members you meet have amnesia. The goddess of the world has y'all waging war inside an "Ark" that nobody can escape. You'll come to learn about the Huan (you and your team) and Ren (the bad guys) clans and uncover some secrets as well.
For me, the dialogue is pure gold. Example, early on my character commented on the goddess acting like a "youtube personality." Characters throw out crazy insults and bicker constantly." This game meets the definition of so bad it's good dialogue. I really hope they keep the translation as is with flaws and all.
Music and sound direction are about what you'd expect from this game. I especially like the song when playing combat, which is great because you'll hear it a lot.
After reading this review if you think this sounds fun, give the demo a try. This game has definitely surprised me and I could see the potential of it being one of my faves in 2024 once I reach the end of my first playthrough.
