Relive this arcade classic through RETRO CLASSIX!
A classic beat 'em up game where you have to fight violent monsters alone or locally with friends.
You can also use special attacks that kill all enemies currently in the frame.

Thoroughly poor emulation and nigh unplayable. Usually I'm not picky, if a company gives me a legal way to play an old game I'll pay for it even it's just an overpriced emulation of a ROM. I believe in supporting game makers whenever possible but this, this finally crossed the line. This game is blurry as to be unplayable. Forget being on par with free emulation, this is inferior to free emulation in every way. If the developer patches this out I'll retract my review but until then please don't support such lazy releases.

Sorry, but this is a terrible port/emulation. I loved this game in the arcade. This is a very sloppy, careless reproduction. Numerous graphical issues with animations stuttering, flicker, transparency issues, slowdown. Stage 3 audio is messed up throughout the whole level, have experienced this thru both play-throughs in a row. I also encountered a glitch where the stage 4 boss couldn't be hit.
Night slashers is a good beat 'em up, but this is a low effort release. I'd suggest you avoid.

This is a fun beat 'em up. It will definitely be a part of my Halloween fun this year.
I played it through entirely and didn't have any problems at all. However, it seems like lots of people do. I'd suggest trying the nslasher.zip file in MAME 2003 or Final Burn Neo. They worked fine for me in them too.

I wanted to test it myself.
Boy, it's a bad port. I can't understand how a pretty old emulator can do a better job than this.
Also, what the hell with stage's 3 music?
The game is good and fun but i can't recommend it at it's current state.

The game itself is amazing, but I can't recommend this port. I did one full playthrough, and suffered near constant flickering and stuttering, as well as random slowdown. Plus it's the censored version with the green blood and all that.
Hopefully we get a patch to resolve these issues, but as it stands... it's a monstrosity.

This is one of my favorite classic beatemups, I was really hyped when it was released, but yet again the emulation sucks plus we only get the censored US version.
This is an absolute travesty, they did better with the other Data East games (To be fair haven't played all of them, and the ones I played are older ones, but still). Had a headache from the flickering and lag. Tried the game on Retroarch and it worked smooth as butter.
Ziggurat and 612 Games shit the bed probably getting a refund. Capcom Beatemup Bundle, the capcom D&D collection and the SNK collection did it better. Get a better emulator and set it up correctly, add the Japanese version AND add smooth multiplayer mode instead of remote play.
Not a recommend, fuck Ziggurat and 612 Games.
