Caught a video of this game on YT. It looked interesting so I figured I'd give it a go. Glad I did cuz this game is so addicting and fun. The controls, UI, and story are pretty easy to follow. There is a simplistic nature to the game while providing plenty of variety and content. Arcade style action with comic book style graphics give it a unique look and fast load times without giving off an "underdeveloped" feel. I hope they add even more content to the game but what it offers For the price point make it more than worth it! Try it out you will like it!

A little over half an hour in and this game is giving me the adrenaline rush overkill did when it first release. I highly recommend. Yes, some graphics are a little wonky, and it can be unforgiving, even at lower difficulty levels, but that's part of the integral design of the game, so that part i can completely overlook. All in all, solid game. 9/10, not enough cowbell, yada yada.

This game is just so cool. Yes, it's a bit janky. But it's just so fun! Both modes (top down and TPS) look and play well. It's just a fun action game like they used to make without cinematics or crafting or anything like that. I played all the levels maybe 2 to 4 times each to get all the achievements and I will definitively keep playing if they add more stuff.

The definition of "It keeps getting better". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV78frLGbuU - Brief gameplay footage. Make no mistake, this is a John Wick-like through and through. As Lionsgate forces John Wick Hex's delisting, a lot of people despaired that there was no other John Wick game, and those people need not fret because everything HEX did, this does better. THIS is the John Wick game we've clamoured 11 years for, and it's still getting expanded upon. A simplistic artstyle was the right move for this game, it allows for solid, high performance and framerates and precise shooting where every bullet means death. There's a breadth of costumes, some of which are direct homages to John Wick himself and Max Payne. The levels are fun and varied, you'll recognise many set-pieces and vistas from action movies such as OLDBOY and of course, John Wick's quadrilogy. A lot of people shy away from imitation, but there's a reason it's considered the highest form of flattery: the developer, GodMode Games, should go even further in my opinion. I can just picture something like a level where you only get swords, having to fight against 100+ guys in a nightclub ala Kill Bill Volume 1. An airport scene like in Max Payne 3's infamous TEARS set piece, or an airport lobby shootout like the Matrix. There is so much to borrow from, and where most games would be deemed uninspired for doing so, this game is the perfect vessel for it because it will transport you into those action scenes you play on repeat in your head due to how fun, video-gamey and visceral they are. The music is serviceable, I wish they went more of a techno/electronic route with a lot of the tracks and leaned more into the classical side with Chopin remixes, as it would fit a lot of the JW iconography they borrow from, but what's here is solid. As far as sound design overall, this is great: every shot feels meaty and impactful, enemies groan audibly when hit non-lethally, you can hear an accurate threshold for where gunfire came from. Unlockables are fun and rewarding to earn, you get a pretty basic character creator at the start and can grind your way to better, cooler suits. There's various guns too, but I have a fondness for the starting pistol due to its piercing ammunition. The game has a top down view or TPS view, I personally went with TPS to really invoke that Max Payne 3 feel, but I did swap to top-down during the "Dragon's Breath" mission, and if you've seen John Wick 4, you'll know why that is. I commend that the dev added the TPS post-launch and it wasn't an afterthought, the game design doesn't suffer for it at all, it improves. Story is paper-thin, you get the occasional boss fight but never really know why you're fighting them. I appreciate it's a stylistic choice to not interrupt the constant action with cutscenes, but even just having a bit of dialogue play as you gun down goons could help motivate you to actually kill these targets you're sent after. Animation work is good, the dive is pretty nice and rolling feels fairly smooth. You're able to cancel most of your animations with the dodge which is a welcome design choice in any action game. One bit of feedback for the developer is I would like to see our pose either be customisable, or be outright changed to a gun-kata style like JW himself uses, with the pistol held close to the chest and pivoted to the left/right. Adding to that, we have a fairly solid kick/grab/execute system and I think it could be even better if we were also able to leap into headlocks/grapples while sprinting. On the subject of sprinting, I feel it could use less energy ideally, or remove its tether to the bullet time/dodge like Max Payne 3 lets you. Enemies are okay. In a game where most die in one headshot, it's hard to really reinvent the wheel but if I had any suggestion, it would be to add more armoured enemies. Ones that could only be killed via execution/headlock would be a great challenge. Additionally, I would like to see more variety in their appearance: I don't know why in Tokyo I'm fighting the same hooded guys alongside the military dudes, it feels like the hood-clad guys should be relegated to the first region because they're "small-time" and you gradually work your way up the heirarchy. I'm very glad I picked this up and encourage anyone who likes Max Payne, John Wick or the Matrix to pick this up. It's probably the best thing in its genre currently, and for under 15 bucks, I'd say that's a steal. 5/5. Actually a really slick John Wick style shooter. Does a good job making you feel like John Wick. It's got all the Max Payne slow mo dives combined with Gun-fu. If anyone played the Max Payne Kung-Fu mod it's a bit like that. Love the original top down view the game has they also added a 3rd person mode. Top down view also reminds me a little of Hotline Miami. Loving it. Great casual pick up and play then put down game. Good checkpoint system. I recommend a little bit of rebinding to suit your needs; grab is so important but is all the way on "g" and needs to be held; would rather have this on "e" I also found a little sneaky hack of having counter / grab / finisher all on the same key bind so it works more like a context button and it works pretty flawessly. I bought this game at discount so I recommend the same. But there is enough quality and fun here to justify 20 bucks.
The game I didn't know I was searching for.
Inspired by multitude of different gun wielding sources from the Matrix to Max Payne, Suit for Hire is some of the most fun 3rd person shooter action I've experienced in a long time. Despite the plain visuals, Suit for Hire is anything but that. A simple trailer doesn't do justice for how much fun this game is actually to play. The mechanics, tools and some of the level design allow a level of player expression I was not expecting. There's room for improvement in many areas, technical and design wise, but I can't say I haven't been having a BLAST with this game! If a little clunky around the edges, Suit for Hire packs a hefty amount of action and content for its price point. This is one to keep your eye out for.

Suit for Hire is pure action from start to finish. After 203 hours it still feels like a John Wick simulator with fast stylish and insanely satisfying combat. The gameplay flows smoothly especially in top down view with every move feeling like part of a choreographed fight scene There is no story at all and I wish there was more content or something to do with the cash earned in game but if you want nonstop stylish gun fu without distractions this is it 9 out of 10 for action lovers

Baba Yaga has risen from the grave! i didn't expect much at first but wow what a surprise gem! I've played for roughly 3 hours on my first play session with it and i have enjoyed every moment of it so far and am excited to see where they go with this game. you can customise your character (basic) but in a good way and the game-play mechanics are smooth, engaging and fun. this game is is like a mashup of Sifu, Max Payne and John Wick, surprisingly for a 3GB game there are a lot of different levels and it'll make you want to S tier all levels and complete the challenges. solid 8/10 i highly recommend it for the price!
