Cool game. Has good depth. Not sure about the bugs and AI yet.

This series is finally progressing in the right direction: the devs are working on it and they really try to solve problems and bugs. There are plenty of Basketball Sims around, but everyone have his problems, and they are always small team efforts. For the first time, this new version of this game can be considered in the Top 5 of the genre. For me is a 7 on 10, and I really hope they will continue to improve this product.

It's a fantastic manager game, just like FM. Maybe a couple of improvements will do, such as game dept (tactical when playing), compact and deep data, more features to analyze, and other aspects such as more realism in the trade and contract process. And the most important thing I loved is the "3D engine" please improve the movement, reaction, and all.

First game I tried from Umix, the game is good and keept me playing 12 hours straight. I think theres things that can be improved but overall for Umix this has to be a win game. I've tried other Basketball Management games and this one is by far the best. Hope this game keeps improving and get to the level of Football Manager. Letsss go UMIX :)

Very good game. I would like to add greek language but and others like serbian. Both countries are huge in european basketball and is Disappointing not include the languages in menu. The game is very promising.

If you like sports management, basketball in general and do not expect anything near the Football Manager standard this game is pretty much for you. Basketball is much more meant to be coached play by play in game and this basically works just fine. Anything besides this is almost non existent so far. There is no youth management, almost no financial management, no interaction with players and some features like getting job offers (or a club to accept your application) or building a stadium don't work well or at all. Training is just extremely basic, too, so all in all everything besides the court is lacking depth or does not even exist (quite the opposite of the famous FM). You get tons of european leagues to play and a great mod providing a real name DB. Well, after everything is on the table i have fun playing this game. If it is constantly worked on i will maybe buy it every few years like the FM, cause it's probably not worth all the money as a yearly update. But for me it's after all thumb up.
Returned/Refunded Due To Brain-Dead AI
The game looks good, UI seems to be clean. But the real thing in a game like this is the AI - it's pretty much all that matters in a sports text sim. If the AI can't present a challenge by running their teams effectively, managing trades and the like then there's really no challenge. One of the first things I'll do when I get a game in this genre is propose stupid trades. It helps evaluate how much work has been put into the AI. Well, this game is brain dead at first glance. I made sure the feature that makes the AI accept dumb trades was OFF. Then I proposed the following deal as the GM of the Celtics: Celtics Trade: Romeo Langford Eres Kanter Grant Williams 76ers Trade: Isaiah Joe Tyrese Maxey Ben Simmons The computer accepted. *facepalm* Yeah, I got an All-Star for a bunch of role players and oft-injured guys. That was enough for me to log off and request a refund. If it's that easy to hose the AI in the game then the game sadly isn't worth playing because there won't be any challenge. That's really unfortunate since a good NBA sim is quite overdue. But this game needs more logic under the hood before it's ready for the big leagues.

After about a dozen hours with the game, a few things to note for players looking to play US based leagues: While modding is available and there is a very nice steam download to get real rosters, names, photos, logos, etc. to make the NBA more enjoyable...there are a few elements that need work. I appreciate the depth of the game, and through modding I can kind of figure out what some of the attributes do, there are some attributes that elude me. The dev could use some blogs in English or a rule book to help English speaking players along. That said, much of what is in there is fairly easy to figure out. AND while you can mod much of the game, there are key areas that you can't. Again, for players wanting to play with the NBA, D-league, and NCAA, these leagues can be connected but as an afterthought. It is clear that the game was developed for the European market. You can technically mod and play at the college level, but this game isn't really set-up for long-term college level play. Again, this game was developed with it's target fan base in Europe. I appreciate that they were able to make the NBA playable, but because the NBA functions differently in terms of rules, relegation system, player loans, etc, the Dev had to do some back-end magic to make the NBA playable. For that reason, there are limitations with what you can mod with your NBA playthrough. Another minor issue: managing your national team. When you start a game, you have to manage your national team. There is no way around this. AND your board of directors (whomever they may be), tie expectations of success around you managing this team (along with the professional team you actually want to manage. I have no clue how much weight there is regarding this. I'm assuming I could get fired if I don't pay attention to the national team, which I don't have a desire to play as. Also notable, there is no fantasy draft. You can make your own league (EU style rules) or make your own team for the NBA, but you have to replace an existing team. And finally, the Financial model. I appreciate that it is there, but honestly, it's a bit of a mess and really hard to completely understand. Part of it is the manual Euro to Dollar conversion you have to do, but also, the finances that they do display don't make a lot of sense (IE; I have tons of money under the salary cap, but can't acquire new players). All of that said, I applaud the developer for making an effort to cater to the US market, and fans of US based basketball. I also appreciate the ability to mod and use the steam workshop. I am only a few games into my modded season and it has been enjoyable. However, there may prove to be too much under the hood that has been left unexplained (as there simply isn't enough information out there to look through). I'm still uncertain as to how the AI works. It's a shame, because this series has lots of potential. I still think it's one of the best basketball sims out there. I still recommend this game, but wanted to at least let users understand what they're getting into. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best basketball sim out there. It is way deeper than others on the market. AI seems okay to me, but I can see how new players to the management genre or this series would complain. I simply think it is a function of not understanding all of the aspects to the game. As I said, it's deep. Not too far off from Football manager deep.

Amazing step forward by UMIX Studios. PBM22 is a very good basketball manager, the best so far. A very big database (with the future mods) a fantastic simulitation of the live games. I will be modding during the next months because the potential of this game is wiiiiiide.

I do want to see this game succeed. I've been looking for a basketball manager sim for a long time. With that said though, currently, while a big upgrade from the first game, still lacks common things even phone management, internet games (basketball-gm), or even nba 2k, have that this game doesn’t. Good: Personally i like the UI, very similar to football manager which i prefer. can sim games weeks in advance and still get a rundown of what happened with emails to your inbox, huge library of teams and players that only hardcore Euro/Asian basketball watchers would know. Bad: Trades are so clunky, even if i offer a 4 star players to other teams, would rarely get any trade offers that makes sense. scouting is pretty much useless, staff are broken, other teams have different coaches for different things while the team i manage can only have assistant coach, physio, PT and scout. Plays are also pretty much useless, training is only drop downs with 3 different options. Ratings of players are wildly inconsistent. Deandre Ayton is 2 and a half stars while Demarcus Cousins is almost a 4? While i still semi play this when i just want to watch youtube on my other screen, its so hard to make trades, or even draft correctly as its so hard to find firstly if i even have picks, and secondly to have some kind of mock draft? While its fine to also see the 3D graphics option there, might as well get the 2D right as the graphics is just super janky, 3.5/10
