Overall
---------
This is an RPG Maker game, but you already knew that. Its on par with the quality of RPG Maker games, buggy, broken, low effort, low quality, or just low reward, bought and paid for assets and music, probably stitched together by someone in their teens with a lot of free hobby time.
I paid $0.59 USD for this game, and I REGRET IT STRONGLY. I want my MONEY BACK. I want my AFTERNOON BACK. I want to forget I ever saw this game, as its 100% a lie!
I played this game for a good solid 5 hours.
Time I regret 100% of the way.
The game makes itself LOOK like a Harvest Moon like game, where you can talk to people and do life sim like activities based on the trailer and the dev mentioned something vaguely confirming this was the truth in the forum, but IT IS NOT THE CASE.
The game STARTS with you trying, and failing to kill an evil vampire demon thing, and losing badly, dying and turning into a living skeleton. You then grind you way out of a cave. The game GLITCHES after successfully leaving this cave, and you, as a result, can play no further beyond a screen that says something about a Type Face Error, and that's it.
Now, that's a huge impassible game breaking bug, and it needs to be fixed, can't be avoided, and IF it wasn't there, maybe this game would have life sim like activities in it. But because its there, you literally ONLY get to play in that cave. This bug was reported over a year ago, and was never fixed. Now, that wouldn't be the biggest gripe, if not for the fact that the GAME IS TRASH for what little you do play.
Allow me to explain.
The game is more of a transactional puzzle then fighting.
You MUST fight your way out of the cave, monsters are obstacles that must be killed for you to move passed them.
But the problem with this is the combat itself.
There is none.
THIS IS AN IDLE GAME
Ever heard of cookie clicker? This might as well be that. You waste your time doing a very repetitive task, and then you wait for that task to be automated in order to advance and perform the task better, that's an idle game, and REGRETTABLY, that's this game as well.
When you start a fight you must push a button to start and basically say "yeah, I see I'm fighting now", and then the entire fight is like a turn based game, but you can't pick any of the turns. You have one attack, as do the enemies and you have ZERO options but to wait out the fight and see if you win, or die trying. [Or push F5 to restart the game when you KNOW you are in a losing fight.
So basically you do nothing until you win.
All the enemies have identical stats per their type, so if you know you can beat one of a type, you can beat them all, given you have the health to tolerate their attacks.
And health is a currency. When you lose it, its gone and doesn't slowly come back, its just...gone, you have to pay money or exp to get more and you only get money or exp from fighting, so the entire game boils down to math. Can I win, cause each enemy will take an easily calculable amount of health and turns to beat, and if I can, I know how many I can beat and farm for gold before I have to go back and heal. Also exp and money are used to gaining attack and defense, so to get stronger you have to pay and manage your resources well to calculate how to win the next set of strategically placed, but slightly more powerful creatures. All the creatures block paths to resources like chests that hold more attack and defense bonuses, or health barrels or barrels with switches that let you pass through certain areas. So, really the game isn't combat, its just a simple management puzzle of knowing how much you have and what you can attack next.
Its easy once you know what you are doing, but what is INSUFFERABLE, is the wasted time.
EVERY ATTACK, is about 8 seconds of waiting before you character automatically does it. What is the point? Its predetermined that you'll win or lose a fight? Why have an artificial means of waiting out a fight, were every attack you give is an exact number of damage and every attack you take is the same, and you just KNOW the out come based on simple math? If it was a real turn based RPG where you can pick from several attacks or defenses, or the option to run, then it would make sense, because the players input would matter and make the game more of a game, all while putting risk and responsibility on the player. But NO. NOT THIS GAME. You just watch and WASTE REAL TIME as you wait to finish a fight you can easily be 100% sure you'll eventually win with a completely ARTIFICIAL inflation of "play time" added for no reason beyond ensure people played this trash for a long time.
I don't usually call games trash, but, this was the worst feature anyone could have ever created.
Within 10 minute of playing this game I remembering thinking, over and over.... Its like they are punishing me for playing this game. They are punishing me for even trying it. Why make this feature?
I had assumed the feature would eventually pan out, where you could hit your opponent multiple times in the time it took them to hit you once, BUT NO. This never happened, and thus the feature took this game that could have taken me 30 minutes to beat and made it a 5 hour experience of trash. And I"m frankly PISSED.
Worse, I thought once the cave was over with, the game would REALLY START, and I'd play something fun, but NO. I was met with a game breaking bug, and can NEVER continue beyond that point.
5 hours in, and ZERO PAY OFF.
I watched Youtube while playing this...A LOT of youtube, because, you can't actually be bothered to sit and play it alone. Its too boring.
Other problems.
ITS A LIE.
The majority of the game is UNTRANSLATED.
The intro, almost every pop up when you get items or power ups, even the NPCs you meet that help you level up, HALF translated. I had to screen cap things and use Google Lens to figure stuff out. After a while I stopped caring.
Don't say you translate a game, when you clearly DID NOT.
This was not the worst experience I had on steam.
I enjoyed wining after figuring out the best order to beat creatures in, but that's all it was, figuring out the order, and then leveling up before proceeding. That was my only satisfaction. Also I had to let the game RUN to not lose progress because the ability to save is restricted at the beginning and near the end of where I played. So, 2.5 hours was just... the game waiting for me to come back to it.
Ultimately, I deeply regret [strike]spending[/strike] wasting my time on this game.
Give me my afternoon back.
