Helton's Haunted Hotel is a very nice and simple 2D pixel game. I actually had a lot of fun playing through it and got excited a few times when I died. But that meant I knew what was coming next and could prepare myself to avoid it. After a few attempts, I finally managed to play it all the way through. I love the archives. All I can say about the other reviews is that I can only partially understand them. Sure, the game still has a few things that could be done better, but I love the fact that it's not a simple game where you're just led through. Most of the time you have to figure out where to go and learn from your mistakes!
These are games I like, but I still have a few small comments:
The hitboxes on some walls are a bit miserable because you get stuck, but there's nothing to get stuck on.
Some text boxes can't be clicked away, they stay there for a while, even though I've already read through them and I can't see where I'm going through these boxes.
In general, it's a nice indie game and I'm already looking forward to playing the other parts!
Learn from your mistakes and don't be too hard on developers because making games isn't as easy as you all think and I can say that because I'm a game designer ;3
