Didnt vibe with the artsyle at all in the games opening minutes. The screenshots on steam make it look better than it is.

It is a fun game to play with your friends, a little grindy at times but that is part of the game.

I've only played the first region so far (what has been available in Early Access), but it's been a really fun experience, especially with friends! Playing three-player co-op has been enjoyable, and higher difficulties has made for a decent (but not overly difficult) challenge. Looking forward to exploring more regions as they become available!

I really want to recommend this game, but right now, at .3.3 it's just not there yet. There's content, the bugs are manageable, it's just... It still needs more work before it's a real game. I'm confident it'll get there in a few months, in a few releases. It's got good bones, this is just a victim of early release.

Very fun game solo and multi-player! I like that you can customize your gameplay to be extremely difficult with zombie waves or super easy if you just want to chill and explore or build. Very happy that this game has controller support too.

OK, first impression of this game was that it looked like a cool concept and would be fun with friends. Wasn't going to tell my mates to buy until I was sure. Combat and movement: After a short look at the game by playing it I can without a doubt say that the combat is horrifically boring. Like I cannot stress how uninteresting it is. Secondly you have no stamina bar so you can sprint endlessly, jump constantly and swing your weapon without even thinking. Thirdly the bow has no ammo system and can 3 shot zombies if you aim for the head making it boring to use, why have head shots be required for the bow to be useful? you cant block with it and you have to try and kite the zombies and head shot them 3 times, Just add ammo and make it do more damage it feels so redundant to even have the bow exist. Also the zombies aggro range is so small like I was so close right in its line of sight and it just looked at me and moved away. I put the zombies on the hardest difficulty and increased the spawns to max and the poi's that I did we a breeze with the first weapon I got, a wood club. I can stun and hit 4 zombies at a time using it and it only takes like 4 swings. Also the time between the zombie attacks is WAY to long, like bro swings his arm once and needs a time out and a drink of water??? I didn't feel threatened at all by them just a hindrance which breeds monotony. Crafting: Search POI's for blueprints, OK fair enough, I got one for a saw can now make planks. Next POI. I personally feel like that could get really repetitive super fast especially because the loot in the chests are so boring wood, plant fibres, wood, apple & repeat, but maybe that's just me. The base building however I did not do much of felt nice to use and had a good menu so there are positives they are just drowning in the negatives for me ATM. Food?: The food system at the start of the game is honestly perplexing, 4 mushroom things and 2 apples makes a juice that is equivalent to eating 2 apples with 1 ten second break in between? Further to this point there is no hunger bar or water bar in a game literally names "Survival Machine" where is the survival??? Overall: I do not recommend this game in it current state unless you want a VERY easy "survival experience". I still think this game has potential, however there need to be big changes and a LOT of updates; the word "survival" is not really feeling accurate as it has so far been a walk in the park.

Enjoyed this a lot. Played through what was in the game so far and had a ton of fun with it. Reading the steam forums I see the devs are very active. Looking forward to see how it progresses.

A solid foundation with potential for greatness. Survival machine is obviously in its infancy as a game however the game has a very promising concept and a good foundation. With another year or so of updates this game could be seriously good, and with further support after that could carve out a strong niche in the over saturated zombie genre. Good points: - Nice visuals and great art direction - Solid combat and base building - Easy to understand and jump into Things to work on: - Gameplay loop gets repetitive after an hour or so straight. - Lack of automated defences, which makes zombie attacks pretty difficult for a solo player and makes building more than one defence weapon pointless - Guns are weak and zombies get too close to you to use them properly - Zombie attack nights happen too often (maybe do one once every 4 nights?) - Defence building options are limited - Repairing a wooden structures (walls etc) costs more than just building a new one - Movement options are limited and could use expanding (Slide, roll etc) - Sometimes when i pause the game and tab out i fall through the world and get teleported back to the machine - Large groups of zombies are basically impossible to kill as a solo - Zombies are too fast - One of the blueprint chest generations is inside of a rock formation that i had to clip inside to get From a solo perspective its clear the game is balanced for multiplayer, with a few friends a lot of things that bug me wouldnt be present however as a solo there are a few balancing and QOL changes that would really help to improve the experience. The gameplay loop can also use diversifying as its very simplistic and repetitive which makes it VERY hard to sit down and play this game for more than an hour straight. However i still enjoy the game and am really looking forward to future updates. If you are interested in the game but do not want to get in on the bottom floor definitely wishlist this game as there is a ton of potential.
