Live Empire 2 is the second idol simulator from Happy Max. Does it stand above its predecessor? After launching the title and pressing start, you will notice the first difference: you only manage one of the three idols the game presents you with. You can choose a name for your future star in this part. Similarly to the previous game, the girls have three stats to raise: eloquence, beauty, and talent. Initially, you can only raise each stat a little, but more effective and costly training options unlock once you reach certain proficiency. Other than training, you can sign a contract with a streaming service. Only one service is open at first, but as you gain more fame, other services become available. Live streaming itself is rather tedious and can't be skipped until you stream a few times. There are some choices before you start and a viewership boost during streaming, but I have not noticed any tangible impact or difference between those choices. Just a gimmick, it seems. Other than work, you can also date with your idol. Dates increase honey and cost some money and stamina, but the cost is minor. Locations unlock when you improve the honey stat. You will also unlock several outfits as you develop your relationship. Honey can also be increased by buying jewellery. Once you reach 100, 300, and 500 honey and watch special dating scenes, you'll unlock the ecchi part. 100 unlock stripping, 300 unlock private streaming, and 500 a h-scene. Overall, the gaming loop is much more grindy than in the prequel; it is also more repetitive and way slower. The previous part was more enjoyable. In terms of art, it is above average, and the character models have some animations. Still, all feels rather low budget and effort. At least the jewellery you buy is displayed nicely by your star. The amount of h-scenes is disappointing. There is only one h-scene per girl, and the animation loops are very basic. The previous title had way more than this. The music here is fine. Nothing cacthy or memorable, but good enough to serve as a background filler. All idols have their own partial voice acting. Don't expect much here, though. No bugs encountered, just occasional glitches. To conclude, this idol-raising simulator feels like a big downgrade when compared with the previous one. The rising part is slow and uninspired, the art is slightly above average, and h-scenes are barely existent. I honestly don't feel like I can recommend this budget idol management game this time. Noticeable downgrade in quality: 3.7/10
