Pleasant simple game play with lovely artwork and music. The story was interesting and melancholic, enjoyable couple hours spent.

Interesting game. Nice visual. Has potential to be something more in the future if the devs want to.
P.S. This review comes from a fellow raccoon.

Raccoon Arrival is a walking simulator by a single developer. For his first game, this is a sterling effort.
My interpretation is that the raccoon is going back to his past searching for his friend. The story is quite sparse and is shown by brief flashbacks when the raccoon reaches certain spots of the environment.
The main gameplay is running along picking up crystals on each level and reading glowing notes and chomping on food. The latter are usually colourful donuts or slices of pizza which are very hard to miss. The glowing notes flesh out the story more. Gameplay is very easy and relaxing, so suitable for children. Very easy to 100% achievement!
The blurb stated meditative puzzles were included, but I saw absolutely no puzzles. You just have to guide the raccoon to his destination. There is slight platforming, but nothing much else. I did have a lot of fun going down those slides!!
A nice touch is when you hit the letter 't', the raccoon rests in an armchair playing games on his phone. Gives a different meaning to a 't' break! When it happened the first time, I had to laugh.
The highlight of the game for me was the beautiful graphics. I loved the environment with moving grasses and leaves dropping from trees and the colour palette was beautiful. I took my time walking in many places, immersing myself in the environment instead of rushing ahead. The graphics were backed by gentle piano music tinkling in the background. Sometimes it was too relaxing and I wanted to nod off!
Raccoon Arrival reminded me a bit of First Tree as there were a lot of similarities. This is a very short game and took me just over 90 minutes....and I wasn't rushing.
Despite the game's obvious beauty, I felt it lacked something. I certainly didn't feel emotional by the ending and a lot of questions weren't answered. The story could have been fleshed out a bit more.
I think the developer played it safe and it shows. I'll look forward to more games from him. I encountered no bugs or glitches and everything moved very smoothly. Certainly more professional than other bigger studios. Buy on sale. 8/10
