It's alright. Update: After finally playing through it, it's pretty bad. The game becomes more grindy than fun at later levels, 3 achievements never unlock. So, that's not recommended from me.

I'd heard about Tower of Wishes from someone else who enjoyed it, so thought I'd give this a spin since I'm a diehard M3 junkie who's been playing this genre for 20 years. While the game has some great concepts and unusual mechanics which I appreciate considering how often one sees the same old, same old in this type of game...it just seems like it could have been done better. I have no idea how you 3 star a level as an example, and usually I'm really OCD about getting all the stars, trophies, etc. in my games, but no matter how I've tried to be as efficient as possible while playing (I'm playing in limited moves), never get more than 2 stars. The interface is sort of odd. If you press certain buttons, the game will go back to fullscreen even you'd selected windowed mode. It's not obvious that you can replay levels by clicking on the rightwards facing arrow in the tower screen. There is no option to replay a level if you know you're about to lose. If you do lose a level, the game goes back to the main screen instead of giving you the option to replay. A game help section would have been extremely useful as you only get a brief popup the first time some new widget appears. I was still pretty confused for the first 5 or 6 levels. And as others have reported elsewhere, I don't know how you get the 100,000 points in a level trophy to unlock. While I like the playing pieces used, the dark background coupled with the tiles to clear being a muddy purple makes it extremely hard for me to see even where the remaining tiles are in a level. Nice soundtrack, and the storyline makes me wonder what the character is going to discover or realize at the end. Despite my initial misgivings, the game did eventually grow on me, even if I still can't see the tiles to clear very well. Interesting endings as there are 3 to choose from when you complete the last level.

Pleasant, gentle match three game with some variety, and a mix of other games here and there. The game designers have found a nice way to reduce the randomness of success, where a lot of things only work with the exact match you made, and not with drops. Not everything, but quite a bit, and it is funner for it. So far I have found a hidden object game, the first of the alternate game types. It was fun as well. The look is nice, and the pace is good. You can, if you wish, increase the difficulty by giving yourself a time limit, or a move limit. I haven't, but it's nice to have the option. An easy thumbs up. ADDENDUM: 10.1 hours of play, start to finish. Some really fun level design in this one, thought I feel they could push it even further. The end result is pleasant and relaxing though.

I really like the super casual mode that this game provides, where you have no time limit and no move limit.
