I really couldn't not post a negative review after the long history of bugs with these games. This is still riddled with poor performance and bugs that break game play! i would've thought after all these years it would be better but i am unfortunately let down. I have played most of the other mechanic sims and there are always bugs that are so blatant and present that i cant believe the devs have not seen to. Instead we get more paid DLCs!!! :DDD
Generally, this game is fun and i enjoy the premise. it is similar to the car mech sims but now you get to fix the car between rally stages, adding a bit of a time pressure to the workflow which causes you to think more about the order and significance of your work.
Overall i simply am dissapointed that this game has unfortunate bugs that prevent me from enjoying it to the full
P.S. the handling model is awful. always has been. There have been driving games from over 20 years ago with far far better handling than this.

Tons of fun. I am definitely enjoying this game the repair and diagnostics are centered around doing the job fast while under pressure and less the attempt to keep things realistic like CMS. We really need more content though. I want to see the rally car go through some bumps and take the damage instead of waiting in a lobby. some stuff is very obviously AI generated but if we got loads more content because of that I really wouldnt mind it.

I was very happy when I bought it, played it for a couple of hours and realized that it was too much of the same thing, the goal was practically repetitive, there were UI errors and other nonsense, it wasn't even worth spending money on, even if it was on sale.

Could be alot better tbh. The camera isn't easy to work with when you want to disamble a part, it's too close and you cant zoom out on the scroll on the mouse. Parts that should be able to remove easily cant be removed without removing another part. Just for an example.. Middle exhaust.. can't remove that without taking the downpipe away. It's 2 bolts. 2!! not the whole god damn exhaust-system.

I have about 150 hours in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 (CMS 2021), and I can confidently say this game is pretty terrible. It honestly feels like a cheap, AI-assisted re-skin of CMS 2021. This game feels significantly less polished, has significantly less content, and gets repetitive very quickly. The idea of being a rally mechanic is super cool, but the execution is severely lacking and quite irritating.
While there is a lot more depth in regards to the part-complexity, it doesn't give you legitimate opportunities to actually delve into this detail. What's worse is that the game makes you actively hate the complexity very quickly. Why bother replacing low durability parts if they're just going to break at the next rally regardless? There's no clear incentive to actually fix the car except maximizing profits when you sell it. It might just be me, but part durability doesn't seem to affect Rally performance at all, since the same parts break over and over. "Repair brakes", "repair suspension", "repair body"; it's the same stuff even when you're not at a rally. Obviously I don't want an engine rebuild in between laps, but I would like a reason to do more than cleaning and simple maintenance between rally events. Maybe a check engine light that I need to diagnose and repair after a rally? It's just too easy yet needlessly complex at the same time; give the players a reason to enjoy the complexity of rebuilding a car,
Outside of needless complexity, the game feels very unpolished. It may seem unfair for me to compare this to a game with 4+ years of active development, but CMS 2021 isn't a AAA game either. The garage in this game is a soulless backdrop you hardly notice, where CMS makes it feel like you work and live there. The cars feel the exact same way, and the interactions feel terrible in this game. For example, if you place a part down and somewhat-quickly move to the outline of another part that needs to be placed, you click through it onto whatever part is behind it. When this happens every single time it makes it hard to work fast, which sucks in a game that focuses on quick repairs. They even use AI-generated pictures for the loading screens between rally's and the garage, which helps make the game feel exceptionally low-quality
I bought this game thinking it would be like Car Mechanic Simulator but more detailed; I was very disappointed to find a cheap re-skin of it instead. Seriously, do yourself a favor and buy Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 if you haven't already. If you've already played that, save your money for the next Car Mechanic Simulator that's currently in development. Maybe one day Rally Mechanic Simulator will be engaging and polished enough that I can recommend it, but that time seems a long ways away.
