Not too far into it, but I figured I should leave a review since there's none yet and people might want to read some quick impressions.
When I launched the game it instantly knew my resolution and everything fits perfectly at that aspect ratio, not always a given when using an Ultrawide monitor, but it's very much appreciated. You can read the store page if you want to find out about the story, but the gist of the gameplay is that new band members get added slowly and each of them has different movement mechanics. As well as the different movement mechanics, there's also other gameplay mechanics that get added and this factors into the grade you get at the end of each level. If you read "Sokoban" style game, don't come expecting to be pushing boxes around a warehouse. The gameplay is based on guiding band members through a grid based level to the goal. It starts off just figuring who can go out which dooway and increases as you add more band members and have to dodge NPCs. It's all turn based and you can rewind individual characters at any point so you can retry with a different path, so there's no frustration about having to start over with all your characters if you got one to the goal already. The mechanics are added slowly enough so you're not overwhelmed at the beginning by balancing a full band and juggling the other systems it adds.
So far the game is quite fun and the presentation is excellent. The characters are well drawn in the portraits for the story section and pop with personality. The music is funky as one would hope when a funk band is the focus of the story. (So far it doesn't go as hard as The Twinning, but what does ;) ) The developers also seem like nice people, so give the game a try if it sounds like it's up your alleyway. At the very least the demo gives a solid introduction for what you can expect.
