I came to date villages, I left hand in hand with a viking of my love. How can I describe this game? Funny, witty, silly in a smart way, weird, memorable, and absolutely worth my time. I started getting into the genre of "alternative dating sims" around two years ago. Of course, "Doki-Doki" in the title really rang a bell and got me interersted. I was wondering if the experience will be something similar to Hatoful Boyfriend. It wasn't, and I loved it no less. This game is not for people who are looking for hidden gore and existential dread, this game is what it is, and beautifully so - it is for giggles, getting attached to the characters and enjoying occasional roast of Englishmen. It has pleasant music, beautiful grafics and ridiculously good writing. If you love puns and vikings, you should lay a notebook next to you: you will want to write some of the jokes down, I guarantee. And what about the romances? I personally enjoyed how different villages truly represent different personality types and I have to warn you, hitting a perfect score with those ladies is NOT EASY. Unlike other dating sims I've played, there wasn't an obvious "wink-wink", you actually have to listen and even read between the lines to get your beautiful opponents to love you. I failed quite early in the game, but thankfully there is no limit to how many times you can try to win the heart of a certain village. And as I kept coming back and trying again, I got to know some villages from unexpected new angles. Sometimes you can get a "satisfactory" one heart, but if you try to get three, you can find gems in those stories. And not only villages stand in your way, but also characters. Just saying: it might not feel this way, but some of the interactions in the game DO have consequenses in the end, so you might want to remember some of those :) And of course, my favorite rival viking Rivalson. One arrogant bastard I liked way too much... to fall in love with. Oh well, gotta get my heart broken... or not? :) On the closing note: this game is a little indie hit for me that will definitely be among most memorable games this year. I really appreciate the work the team has done (first game, kudos!) and I want to see what more they come up with. Thank you for such a strange and awesome experience :D

It's incredibly stupid, but it somehow found a way to plunder my easily-conquerable heart.

Interesting concept, I was really hoping this would be a special find. Unfortunately, it was not smart or interesting enough to hold my attention. Returned to sender.

Short, sweet and fun experience. Not a tedious and long venture and the dialogue had me cackling often. The story also addresses modern/real topics in a very light hearted manor. Worth the handful of hours you might drop on it.

It's small, it's heartfelt and it's funny. I had some memorable dates with some memorable villages and I hung out with a bunch of goats. If you like the writing in the tv show Our Flag Means Death, I think you'll have a good time with this one.

Did you ever want to date a village? As in like the entire thing itself? All buildings/everything included? Well now you can! I honestly thought this was a Match-3 game. It isn't. It is very quirky and has silliness in every part of it. Your goal IS to date villages by choosing the correct option. However, since the game is humor-based... You wont always pick the right one or will KNOW if you chose the right one or not. (It varies.) Trial and error. :> There are also "one heart events", where the choices aren't as important. They are just for fun/Achievements and a tad bit more craziness. A "skip" button was also implemented, as well as "Restart Raid" so you wont have to worry about it if you made a mistake. The whole game was certainly different and while there are "weird Dating Sim" games out there, this one is far lighter and definitely varies from them. So if you want some ridiculousness and/or perhaps you have a thing for architecture...? You can look into it. Haah...! Thanks you! :> :)
