O.V.N.I. Abduction Reviews

I’m not saying this is a particularly good game, but there are so few UFO themed horror games that I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in the topic. The game itself is very short, the free dlc is about half as long as the original game. The gameplay is quite diverse, the original starting with a P.T-esque section and then ending with a mindless shooting. The style of the DLC is also different, it's classical horror, you have to find some strange symbols while enemies are looking for you.

I originally down-voted due to the inability to invert the Y axis. A developer has informed that this has been fixed so I will change to a positive for now and revisit once I've had time to play with the new settings. I also see that they've added options to edit the graphics, sound, resolution, etc so that's goo!

A basic alien encounter game with awesome theories and light displays

Alien abduction game. Gameplay is mostly running around, combat is pretty bad.

Pretty solid and fun Grey Alien Game. I really enjoyed all aspects of it, although i preferred the introduction sequence that gave off some pt vibes. The later parts of the game were very different but still fun. The Game comes with 3 difficulties and about 1 hour of gameplay from what i can tell in my playthrough. The game is ugly as sin. You walk around activating towers and then drop a few UFO's with a rocket launcher. Unfun hike in the countryside between each UFO. Totally unfun. Tab to switch weapons? Really?

First off i wana say the atmosphere and overall grey alien theme was so cool , you dont see games with these kinds of scenarios at all so it was a must for me to try out as ive been waiting for a game like this , the first half was great when it got into combat and objectives the games feel took a different path, i would say the game needs more work on combat story development and animations, even something simple as controller vibration wouldve made combat feel a little better but overall despite some flaws that could be brushed i did enjoy playing this, i wish we could see more real grey alien conspiracies grounded in this game like abduction experiment scenes, underground alien bases and government involvement etc hopefully content like this gets included in the future, not to bash your guys story but the classic shoot and kill theses invaders has been overdone so something grounded around real grey alien conspiracy would be so Amazing to play i hope you guys do continue developing this and expanding the story as theres huge potential here and i love what you did with the first half with the p.t. style , Please keep working on this!!

https://youtu.be/GayWetppYFc Game takes a little over an hour to beat and let me break down what you are going to be doing for that hour. 15 minutes of it will be walking around in circles in the same house waiting for aliens to stop fucking with you. If you have ever played P.T. the dev was trying to do that same thing except the dev isn't Hideo Kojima or Guillermo del Toro. After looking at aliens, walking in a circle, looking at aliens, walking more, and finally looking at an alien and walking some more. You will be able to exit the house and enter into the next riveting part of the game. The next 30 minutes of the game are going to be walking from one “Communication” tower to the other. So much walking. Every one of these towers are a solid 2 minute walk away from each other and your average objective is “Grab an item and walk back”. Sometimes you will have a task like “Turn on the Fuse Breaker in a certain order” or “Turn on the Electrical in a certain order” or “Fix the power”. Finish the task and get back to walking! 10 minutes of your playthrough is taken up by being abducted by the aliens. It is the slowest tractor beam I have ever seen in any kind of game or media. It takes so long the sound effects actually have to loop back and start playing again. Speaking of sound effects, what sound does a shotgun make? The classic “CHK-CHK” sound when racking a shell is somehow missing, the sound that everyone and every game knows about, the sound that has been studied to show is more frightening than the actual shotgun. It's there when you load shells into the gun but when firing it's missing. Which doesn't really matter because I think you only have to use the shotgun once, maybe twice. 5 minutes are gonna be spent out running your own rockets from your rocket launcher. This is about the funnest part of the game. About half way through you get a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo that fires rockets at about 2 mph which you use to cause the UFOs to fuck off for a bit. The best part is as long as you are walking to the left or the right slightly the UFOs will never be able to hit you. Just strafe and fire and after about 20 minutes the rocket will actually make it to the UFO. The remaining amount of gameplay is going to be used contemplated your life and the poor decisions you've made wasted 15$ on this game when you could be playing something entertaining instead.

The demo was very promising. I have been waiting a long time to see a Grey Alien abduction themed spooky game. This game seems to take inspiration from horror fetch the item/key, FPS, and P.T. It starts out with P.T. style and a nice atmosphere with a couple good jump scares and then devolves into a pretty unsatisfying key/item search with very unsatisfying FPS combat. The story is underdeveloped and the ending leaves much to be desired. I streamed this game and beat it in about 2.5 hours. I ended up triggering an event that I think was supposed to take place later in the timeline and the instructions and way points didn't make much sense after that. I was able to get the credit roll after just randomly running around and checking and rechecking locations. My suggestion to any one checking this out is DO play the demo if it is available. Its fun and interesting and honestly encompasses all the enjoyable content the game has to offer. However, unfortunately I can not recommend that you purchase this title. Vanadial, keep making games! I loved the setting and the theme and I think with some more time and love this could've been pretty damn good.
