Only 5 Steam reviews? This game is awesome and it really deserves more recognition. Canary In A Crater is a 2D mining game, similar to Miner Dig Deep, Motherload, Steamworld Dig etc. Mechanically, the game functions very well - I never encountered any bugs during my play-through and the controls remained solid throughout. The sound design is acceptable and the graphics and art design are very nice, in my opinion. The default controls are good, although you have the option to rebind them, if necessary.
Overall, I really enjoyed this game, and for £2.09 at full price, it's a bargain! The replay value is high and the game is engaging throughout. Having enemies in the game really adds another layer to the gameplay. You really feel the progression in this game and it doesn't just feel like a race to the maximum depth.
Anyone who enjoys the aforementioned games must play this!

Not very good sadly. It's a poor man's Steamworld Dig basically. Everything is inferior in some way and also it has these annoying punishing mechanics where you just have to keep returning to your base because you run out of your battery, or you run out of ladders, or whatever. Dying not only deletes all your mined materials, but also your equipment that allows you to move underground - which might technically mean it's possible to lock yourself out of progression completely.
