Alien Death Mob delivers what it promises - an exciting no-nonsense twin stick shooter. Within one minute of starting up the game you're going to be blasting armies of cute aliens. The moving and dodging feels extremely good, and the forgiving bullet time when enemies are near enables weaving between tightest of gaps in all the chaos. I found chasing after a 5 star score on each level to be rewarding - the score system drives players to make daring plays and move around the map actively. The game also keeps throwing in new enemies at a constant pace, making it a breeze to play through.
Especially for this price I can't recommend the game enough to twin-stick shooter enthusiasts.

If you like twin stick shooters and want a hardcore horde survival version with a lot of charm (like I did) then Alien Death Mob is your game. Slowing down time if Bullets or enemies are near you is an incredible cool dodge mechanic. With time and experience you will dance through fields of enemies and projectiles and it feels more than good. Simple but satisfying gunplay on top of that, diverse maps with diverse enemies with diverse behavior, diverse Gun pickups that play differently and you have an incredible simple game that is incredibly fun if you are ready to invest the 1-2 hours it needs to develop the skill to dodge everything and to manage all the chaos that is happening on the screen. Adrenaline inducing!! In my Top 3 of Top Down shooters. Worth more than it's price. Buy it

So good! I played old PugFugly games decades ago, and found them fun even then. I'm delighted to see them still producing games, as well as seeing that their tracker music acumen is still fantastic (excellent composer, especially for classics like The Cleaner). This game is so simplistic - a twin stick shooter along the veins of Robotron 2084, but significantly better in pretty much every way. The powerups are plentiful, the maps and enemies are varied, and sound effects and graphical style are highly unique. This is actually a joy to play. Well done, dude!

I've played this 20+ hours on another account, and I almost got a perfect score on every level! This game has an incredible amount of content for the price. There are dozens of levels, each with its own graphics and enemies. There are lots of weapons. There are bonus mini-games that are just as fun as the main game.
The game is a relentlessly paced twinstick shooter. There are so many bullets and enemies that death is basically inevitable on most levels. However, dying doesn't matter nearly as much as dropping your multiplier, and this game is much more about score than surviving.
It feels really difficult at first, but once you get into the habit picking up shields and power-ups ASAP, you'll realize it isn't so bad.

Temporarily adjusting game to positive review until I get a chance to try the game again.
Old negative review can be found below.

I wanted to like the game, and my first impression was pretty great.
If you are only interested in a classic arcade game like robotron you'll probably be fine with this.
Personally the thing that really interested me in the game though was that I seen there were set missions with score goals to aim for. This is the exact thing that I love in Geometry Wars 3 and that is probably a top 10 game for me.
Unfortunately this game just ended up making me want to go back and play Geometry Wars 3 rather than this. Some of my biggest gripes with the game...
-There is not really any time pressure other than the multiplier which you just need to make sure you refresh before it drops. This incentivizes somewhat strange gameplay where you dont actually want to kill things on the screen sometimes because you want to wait and see if the game is going to randomly drop a "treasure" on the map.
-Speaking of treasures, these are the multipliers. The annoying thing is that when, where, and why they spawn on the map seems to be very unpredictable and random. There were multiple times that I would finish a level and then right at the end a treasure would appear......a lot of good that does when I just killed everything already.
-Powerups are very unbalanced random and awkward. Much like the treasures I never really understood the logic of when they would appear or why. You get to pick from 3 of them, but its possible for all 3 to be exactly the same, which just seems like an oversight. And the powerups themselves can either be very strong or strictly worse than your default weapon
-There was 1 time that an enemy got stuck off screen somehow and for that reason i had to restart the stage.
-There are a lot of stages but they really aren't all that different in terms of gameplay or strategy.
--------------------
I could go on about minor things with the game, but to summarize the main issue with the game is that it just feels like a lesser version of Geometry Wars 3, without offering any real positives other than an aesthetic difference. The scoring system just feels too much based on luck and weird delay tactics. The game isn't bad by any stretch, it is just completely outclassed by another game.
It is cheaper though I guess, but I would still strongly just advise you to wait for a sale and get the better game.

Nice little twin stick game! Definitely worth the price.
Would suggest confining the mouse cursor for mouse and keyboard users, and a a non-yellow mouse cursor for the yellow and white background levels would be so much easier to aim. Cheers!

Introduction
Alien Death Mob is a great twin stick shooter with bullet time! In Story Mode you take on alien hordes in stand alone country themed missions, survive through multiple waves to clear them. Classics inspired arcade modes are included.
Levels
The story mode has 35 missions, each mission features a unique country themed level with obstacles and procedurally generated waves of aliens. There are also 4 different Arcade Modes, two inspired by Robotron one of which has 8-directional aiming.
Control
The game can be played with dual stick controller, keyboard + mouse/tablet or (one handed) controller + mouse/tablet. It helps to take out some of the stronger enemies first and for that you need accurate aiming. Hence I personally prefer using my PS3 Nav controller + Wacom tablet.
Gameplay
To get a good score (and earn 5 stars) you need to pick up all the multipliers and be quick about it to get big time bonuses. An audio cue will play when a new multiplier appears, you only have a limited amount of time to pick it up. To help you find it there's a dashed line from the protagonist to the multiplier. To survive it helps to pick up shields and power ups along the way, both come with their own sound cues.

There is such a thing as too hectic even in this type of game.
There's just too much going on too fast and you scramble to even aim in the direction you need to. Other than that there really isn't any interesting progression, you get random temporary weapons (why cant I enjoy my weapon?) and try not to die. If you beat a level, you get a new level that is quite the same. Hurray.
Kudos for not making this brainless like Vampire Survivors and allowing the player to aim their weapon.

At this price, Alien Death Mob punches way above its weight. I love the retro aesthetic and each level is really unique in appearance and in gameplay. I will say that the game seems impossible at first until you get a feel for it. It would be nice if it eased you in a bit more or explained its mechanics a bit better (or I could just suck at these kind of games, I could never get into Geometry Wars). Overall, it is a tough game, but once you realize how to avoid enemies and grab shields and power ups quickly, it gets manageable and a lot of fun (and addictive). It is a great game to pick up and play for 5-30 min at a time, and all the great levels will keep you coming back for a while trying to get all the stars.

This is one of the fastest and most relentless twinstick shooters I've played! There are a lot of levels, powers ups, and enemy types. I especially dig that each level looks very unique and has its own layout.
Staying alive can be difficult, but the game doesn't penalize you much for dying. Scoring is way more important than surviving, and you are encouraged to collect score multiplier items as quickly as possible even if you have to die to do it.
I love that the power ups get dropped out of little cars that drive across the screen.
After the major update: This game WAY better now. One of the best in the genre!
