Beautiful 2D graphics, good gameplay and script. An adventure game in which you will need to solve problems and go through different levels in the style of Mario.

Sir Christopher is a captivating gaming experience that takes players on a thrilling medieval journey. As a male gamer, I found this game to be a delightful blend of action, strategy, and immersive storytelling.
The game's strongest suit is its narrative. The story of Sir Christopher, a valiant knight on a quest to save his kingdom, is engaging and emotionally resonant. The character development is exceptional, making you genuinely care about the protagonist's fate and the challenges he faces. The game's writers have crafted a compelling tale that keeps you hooked from the beginning to the end.

I recently had the opportunity to play as young Christopher in an exciting game where the objective was to deliver a piece of cake to Aunt Klava. This intriguing journey presented several unexpected challenges and encounters that added an extra layer of excitement to the gaming experience.
As I embarked on my quest to deliver the cake, I quickly realized that things were not going to be as simple as they seemed. The first obstacle I encountered was a mischievous cat named Whiskers, who decided to playfully swipe the cake right from my hands! This unexpected twist forced me to quickly think on my feet and find a way to retrieve the cake from the cunning feline.
Once I successfully retrieved the cake from Whiskers, I entered a mysterious forest filled with enchanting creatures. I stumbled upon a mischievous group of forest fairies who seemed determined to distract me from my mission. They played tricks on me, shifting the path and hiding the cake in a tree. It was an intriguing challenge to outsmart the fairies and reclaim the cake.
As I continued my adventure, I came across a rickety bridge suspended over a treacherous river. In an unexpected turn of events, the bridge collapsed just as I was about to cross it. This forced me to search for an alternative route and navigate through a dark and eerie cave. The cave was filled with bats, spiders, and other ominous creatures, making it a nerve-wracking experience.
Just when I thought I had overcome all the obstacles, a sudden thunderstorm erupted, drenching me and the cake. It was a race against time to find shelter and protect the cake from becoming completely ruined. The storm added a thrilling element to the adventure, making it even more memorable.
Despite the numerous challenges and unexpected twists, I finally reached Aunt Klava's house

While Sir Christopher isn't an amazing game, with its lack of checkpoints and on occasion unresponsive controls leading to inadvertently injurying yourself, the cute pixel graphics, calming music and multiple enemy types, each doing something different makes up for the issues.
The length of the game is doubled by going backwards once you've gotten to your grandmother, with slight differences on your way back, even then this game can be completed within half hour. With a lot of improvement, this game would be worth geting at full price, for now however, I'd recommend getting it on at least half off.
Overview:
Alright, another cheapo indie game in the good old 2D side scrolling platforming format. Definitely nothing unique here but also a popular genre many players love so how does it fair? 'Sir Christopher' throws you into the shoes of a boy named Christopher on a jarring quest to deliver a delicious cake to his grandmother miles away. On his journey he'll run into "less than" terrifying monsters as well as random people in need of help. The game itself is extremely short and can be finished in probably less than 10 minutes if you don't die. It's even shorter if you take into account that the other half of the game consists of the return trip back home. This means backtracking through all the stages you've already passed only with minor adjustments, so the variety isn't plentiful at all.
Overall, 'Sir Christopher' is an extremely simple 2D platformer that offers nothing new or unique and is another small indie game thrown into the pool of other games of similar style.
Gameplay:
As mentioned, the game is a 2D side scrolling platformer but with little fetch quests that add little flavor to the overall game as well as rewards Christopher with extra hearts. But there really isn't much going for the game in terms of gameplay. There's a combat system but it's rather janky and there are only 3 different enemies you'll encounter making combat extremely boring and uninteresting. Christopher also moves sluggishly slow as if he's over-encumbered so playing just feels time consuming and gruelling so much that you wish there was a sprint key.
The journey itself is rather boring and although there are little quests to do for people for a good portion of the game, it doesn't change the fact that it's all the same, go here pick up that and repeat. The combat stays the same and platforming is either on or off. Around the middle of the game, swaying plants are introduced that you have to platform on but their hitboxes are static which makes it hard to tell where the edge of the platform is because the swaying throws you off. i had to restart the game multiple times because I couldn't get the platforming down because it's just awkward to try and jump on a still platform represented by a moving image.
And that's the other thing, for a game that looks fairly casual, it's actually quite hardcore. If you're not good at platforming or can't get behind the janky and awkward controls and platforming, you'll probably die a few times. When you die, there are no checkpoints you can fall back to. You don't even get thrown back to the first level. You get thrown, straight to the main menu, not even a game over or death screen. Quite harsh if you ask me but after a little while you'll get the platforming down and the game becomes easier to play. The rest is just trying not to get hit since the last thing you want to do is lose all your health and start back from the literal beginning.
Controls:
Move, jump, and attack is all you have here. As already mentioned, walking is incredibly slow but that's not it. Jumping for some odd reason feels inconsistent. When landing sometimes you'll be able to jump again right away but other times it'll be delayed ever so slightly and won't activate when you try to jump. Then I realized that it's because Christopher doesn't always fully touch the floor when he lands, sometimes he takes a little longer to land on his feet which prevents you from jumping again. I've fallen plenty of times because the character didn't jump when they should have. Lesson, take your time when platforming because if you try rushing it, you risk falling.
Graphics:
Here we have your usual retro/pixelated style with a nice colour scheme. Many MANY games of this manner absolutely love creating games in this style whether it's because it's easy or if they genuinely enjoy this style. Personally, I have no issues with it and I quite like the colouring of it. Despite that, many see this practice as lazy as it requires less work and effort to create lower resolution textures whether or not there are ill intentions. That and there are many ready-to-use packs that contain retro style sprites and assets that can be used to quickly put together a game so, there's that.
Audio:
Sadly little effort was put in this section. The only sounds I recall are walking and attacking. The sword swings are fine I suppose but the issue with walking is that the game honestly doesn't know when to trigger the sound cue for it. Sometimes you won't even hear the grassy sounds of your feet moving but other times you'll hear two sound cues overlapping each other. It's inconsistent and shows that little to no polishing was put into the audio department. Overall, disappointing but also expected from a game of this magnitude.
Conclusion/TL;DR:
'Sir Christopher' is another low effort 2D side scrolling platforming game with sluggish and janky gameplay with little to offer. Being beatable in well less than 10 minutes along with the last half of the game being the exact same as the first half but in reverse, 'Sir Christopher' is a game that does not bring a lot to the table despite possibly putting in the effort to do so.

I can tell this was made by someone who's somewhat new to game development yet possesses talent. It really shows. I was really eager to try out someone's first attempt to make something they are passionate about at a time where the game was not at all known to the public. I even considered speedrunning it before getting easily tired of the sluggish physics and boring combat. Much of this can be attributed to the limited time and resources mentioned in the description but it would be a shame to let a game that has potential go to waste, even if it was just created for a competition. This isn't to say that this game doesn't have potential. If the dev was to improve the combat and physics it would have the potential to be a good, all-be-it somewhat generic, puzzle platformer. Since the dev is Russian I am willing to translate the dialogue into better English and even add a French option to expand the game's audience. You can contact me at .
