Cute and Cozy
A simple game about packing a bento box neatly. The game has a short little story, told by pictures between the chapters. First, you play as the mother, packing the bento for her son, then as the son, all grown up, packing the bento boxes himself.
The puzzles can take as short as a few seconds to complete, or much, much longer.
Speaking of puzzles, there's over 120 of them, so, this game will definitely take you a while.
Honestly, I'm not afraid to admit, that for 99% of the levels, I used the help of guides.
I was surprised to find out this game came out in 2019, it looks like a game that could've been released this year in all honesty.
An easy recommendation from me, cozy, wholesome and relaxing, and pretty cheap for what you get!

Cute little game. Loved to play it. If you like little puzzle games (around 3-4h) that aren´t too hard would 100% recommend.

Interesting game with unique concept. Puzzle design is awesome but could be extremely challenging at almost every later half level.

Don't the cuteness fool you. This game is hard, like excruciating hard. I got this and Golf Peaks (this other studio's game) at the same time. And despite first starting this game, I ended up finishing Golf Peaks first, because I needed an inbento break. The difficulty really starts to ramp up around World 4 and stays fairly linear for the rest of the game. I didn't find every new mechanic to be necessarily harder than the previous one, but I did appreciate the twist it brought and the creativity behind it. Much like with Golf Peaks, the game is aesthetically wonderful, well-made, and fun to play. I recommend this game to all lovers of challenging puzzle games and cute cat pictures.

Inbento is a delightful cat puzzle game with clear tutorials that prevent information gaps, letting the challenging puzzles speak for themselves. With a difficulty that spans from trivial to intensely hard, and short, relatable cutscenes, it's a highly enjoyable experience, even if you, like me, can't conquer every last level.

This game is so lovely! I played for a little bit and it helped me relax :) also, the fact that it's a puzzle game and helps us work out our brain is so important! In an era of brainrot, we need more calming, brain-stimulating games like this!

Inbento is an adorable, well-made spatial puzzle game about a mama cat learning to craft bento boxes for her orange son. It's cute, it's wholesome, and it'll make you question your intelligence.
Gameplay
Controls. Fully playable with mouse, controller, or Deck.
Puzzles. There are 126 puzzles (plus a hidden level) across 14 "Worlds," and gameplay is straightforward: each puzzle has a bento box, a goal, and a handful of tools and ingredients that must be used to accomplish that goal. As you progress through the worlds, you unlock cute snippets of story and new mechanics like swapping and rotating tiles, copying/pasting, filling in large areas, etc.
Playtime. It took me ~7 hours to 100%, largely playing in 5-10 minute bursts. It also took ten months.
Final Thoughts
Here's the thing: The first six or so "Worlds" feel like a breeze, but then it starts getting challenging. Really challenging. I went from being impressed with myself to keenly aware that there's no built-in hint or help function. I'd get stuck on a puzzle, work and rework it a dozen times without getting any closer to a solution, and close the game for a few weeks to let it percolate in my subconscious or whatever.
I rather liked the constant loop of pick up, put down, pick up a month later -- but then World 12 happened. Compared to everything before and after, World 12 felt like I'd stumbled into a cage fight against the Hulk. I don't know why my brain could not process those particular puzzles, but it was the only time I felt frustrated enough to consider uninstalling the game.
Everything else is pitch-perfect, though: the art, the minimal story, every other puzzle, it's all fantastic, and there's nothing quite like the dopamine rush of solving a difficult level. The only things this game is missing are a "Skip World 12" button and some kind of hint system.
Recommendation
I recommend Inbento if you enjoy spatial puzzles and a good challenge; no matter what you pay for it, you're going to get your money's worth. Plus cute cats!
If you're easily discouraged or feel frustrated, anxious, or depressed when you can't figure something out, then this probably isn't a good fit for you.
