I've been looking for a Frogger dupe for awhile now and I have to say Froggerty Arcade is definitely the best option on Steam. It scratches that Frogger itch and was quick to 100% for achievements. I recommend! 🐸

This is a nice frogger version with good differences and compelling gameplay. Would prefer controls to be a bit more spontaneous, but have liked this game. Will play it.

This is good old Frogger with a fresh coat of paint. You play a frog who needs to get from the bottom of the screen to the top by crossing streets and rivers, without being run over by cars or falling into the water. The gameplay is as engaging as ever. I've actually looked (unsuccessfully) for a Frogger clone on Steam for quite a while, and I always wondered why I couldn't seem to find one. The game comes with three modes: one has nice looking, modern pixel graphics, one has an 8-bit look very similar to the Atari VCS version (and different levels), and the third one is a survival mode where your goal is collecting hearts that randomly pop up while going upward on a seemingly infinite lane. The game also has achievements (which is nice) and online leaderboards (which are pointless in my opinion, because I doubt that a small one-man indie developer can keep the inevitable cheaters out). One potential criticism is that the game is less forgiving than the original. In the original game, as long as you made contact with a log or turtle even just with your legs, you'd be safe. In this game, you drown. This means that this game requires much more precision when e.g. jumping onto fast-moving turtles. I've also run into a few situations where I died due to input lag. And I've seen criticism about the game only having a small number of levels, but I haven't yet progressed far enough to check that. Unfortunately, the game is lacking any quality-of-life features whatsoever. Music can be turned on or off, but there's no volume slider, nor is there a separate option for the sound effects. Keyboard controls are limited to arrow keys or WASD and can't be rebound. This means that for players with AZERTY or Dvorak keyboards, the arrow keys are the only sensible option, which you can only access well with the right hand (which therefore cannot rest on the mouse). The game can be paused, but game states cannot be saved. All this is pretty disappointing and would probably have led to a downvote if I didn't like the Frogger gameplay so much. I hope that the developer will be more considerate about user-friendliness in future games (or perhaps with an update for this one). I still recommend the game because it's a decently made Frogger clone that captures the gameplay of the original while having a very low price. It's relaxing when played in short bursts, and the young ones can get a glimpse of a classic game that many of us old farts loved back in the 80s. ;)
